Not sure if you can answer this, but did they manufacture anything for you, and if so, are there any of your products that will be disrupted by this?

No, we do everything in house. This has zero impact on us.

Don't look at the light Andy! :)

Mike in engine build was very helpful to me. Glad you guys are going strong.

Mike is a wealth of knowledge for sure.

Not all hearsay I guess.

Actually that is the exactly what I mean. So a relative owned a company that closed, while I can see a concern, it does not effect us at all. I'm sorry if someone is disappointed in that fact, but it's the truth. As someone who has worked here for 8 years, I can say that it doesn't impact us. In fact we're looking to add even more capacity to keep up with demand of our products and services.

Shit! Treed again!

And while not even having a running car...

Or maybe I was late to the race as well...

I purchased a $71 intake valve for a 3v head a few weeks ago. No, that isn't a typo. Glad to know I helped keep your business thriving! You'll forgive me if I don't purchase anything else from you in the future though.

edit: 12/5/13- Ignore this post, I spoke out of line.

Correct on the above, Dan's grandfather starting Livernois is how I have always heard it. Livernois motorsports is a newer thing. It was Carl Holbrook's shop forever, then Livernois for the last 10-12 years or so.

Denying any relationship whatsoever, especially by using the term "mother ship", wasn't really a very good idea. See pages 24 & 32: http://www.slideshare.net/maldred/livernois-vehicle-development-2013

And there's pesky old forum posts out there too: http://forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=3767

"We’ve always kind of worked with the big three and OEMs on different things, through our other company, Livernois Vehicle Development" http://www.stangtv.com/features/sho...at-michigan-powerhouse-livernois-motorsports/

Even on the livernois motorsports website: http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/downloads/aprnewslet07.pdf

You guys sure are looking for something hard that isnt there. We haven't been tied to them since 09. Were we once? Sure. But not for a long time. Everything I stated was factual. And brian, always good to hear from you. You're right, I payed livernois vehicle to come pick up your vehicle so we could perform warranty work at zero cost to you. Thank you for reminding me of things that we do to help our customers. Kdanner, it was nice meeting you a few years ago, I am glad that we could accomodate you in the free use of our dyno when you first received your mustang, again a great reminder of how we work.to help.customers and better the industry as a whole.

Again, while its nice to see so much enthusiasm, I must believe that everyone has better things to.do.other than posting inaccurate, outdated information. I am glad that I haven't had life experiences that make me as much of a skeptic as some.others in this thread. Again, sorry to disappoint those who wish ill things towards us, but we aren't connected with them.

WTF! May I ask why you paid $71 for an intake valve? Could you not have overnighted one from tousley or tasca for way cheaper? Tousley has intake valves for $7.57 a piece...not being a smart ass just stunned...

Looking at his invoice it appears he bought a manley inconel extreme duty exhaust valve, which are around 64 dollars a piece (check jegs, manley part number 11633-1) and then shipping. I guess I am uncertain where the problem is.

Not to detract from the rest of the fun but Livernois built a motor that couldnt keep the oil inside it. I shouldn't have ever incurred any cost... admittedly this is a good PR spin and would probably qualify you for an intership with Jay Carney in the White House!

I don't think anyone is looking for anything or wishing I'll will on LM. I'm reading it more that they want the truth, possibly to prevent them from buying a product in the near future that y'all aren't going to be around in a year to back should something happen to said product. No need to be smug.

I also see where LM formed, or RE-formed the business in one of those .gov pics above. It was 5-6-09, according to that pic. Perhaps these guys aren't putting 2+2 together, again...no need to be smug.

You commented directly to a couple but you left one out that I'd really like to see your rebuttal. Poster "skwerl" was charged, no, RIPPED OFF...for $71 for one GD valve? PLEASE...justify that charge to the rest of us?

We patiently await THAT response!
Thanks.

EDIT: you treed me. I see your response. That's justifiable, if true. Thank you.

EDIT EDIT: I looked the part up. He is correct, $63 and change from Jeg's.

Guys,

As stated, Livernois vehicle development is in no way connected to Livernois Motorsports, there is no "mother ship" to us. We definitely appreciate the concern, but we are doing better than ever.

As for anyone posting hearsay, it is just that. Misinformation as most people hear Livernois and don't go past that unfortunately. while I can see there being some confusion because of a similar name and logo it's just coincidence. We have never been busier and plan on doing what we do best, making cars and products that are the envy of the industry.

Good to here you guys are still going to be around. It's a great facility and I have been there a couple of times.

When I toured with Rick Leblanc (I think it was in 09), as he drove me around the facility we did go by the other buildings of LVD. He stated to me that the motorsports division was only like 5% of what the company does.

He said they did lots of R&D for Ford. He even pointed out one of the buildings stating they had 5 or 6 gt's with the 5.0 engine they were doing testing on for Ford for, long before other people even knew about the engine.

Again, glad your going to be around. I think Dan is a great guy, and was always very approachable and friendly to deal with. And, one of the most competent GM tuners out there.

We don't do much with GM stuff, but when we do, we defer to you guys for the tuning.

I am sorry that you had a valve cover gasket leak, I understand the disappointment in the reality that we employ humans, and your frustration in the fact that we fixed it at no charge to you. I am glad we could fix it for you.

Thanks for the kind words, we definitely take pride in everything we do and offer. We definitely take people's concerns very seriously, regardless of what their source of concern is. Back in 2009, ownership was different today. If you go all the way back to 2000, ownership changed and actually Livernois engineering and Livernois vehicle were bought by Lennox heating and cooling, and then changed hands multiple times since then until 2009, which established our current ownership. This ownership, beyond being actual family to the ownership of Livernois Vehicle Development, has no ties. That is all I am trying to relay is that we have no connection other than being from the same family.

I'm only working off of hearsay here so take this with a grain of salt.

Livernois Motorsports (LM) is owned by Livernois Vehicle Development (LVD). I think LVD is owned by Dan Millen's Mom/family.

I heard that a few years ago LM lost a couple million dollars in one year because of mismanagement and too much money spent on racing (and was loosing money, just not as much for years). It did not go over real well with those holding the purse strings. This may be the net result of a situation like that playing itself out.

I'm local to Livernois and you hear a lot of scuttlebutt from inside the industry around here. Hard to tell fact from fiction.

Just for clarification I have done racing on my own for several years with zero money from the company. I have paid the guys that helped work on my car and guys in the machine shop out of my own pocket. Also done after hours or off the clock. Just ask them.
