I just finished this. I used a prothane bushing. The design looks quite different. One tip though, take the inner sleeve out before you push the bushing in. Turned mine from impossible to hand push easy.
I did not check that....Other than the upper controll arm being "frozen" in the up position and me have to rig up a ratchet strap system to pull it down, everything was fine in fitment.
Try measuring the edge of sleeve to the outside edge on the stocker and compare that to the step portion of the bmr, looks like you'll have a 4mm gap in center of sleeve, possibly for a grease zert?
See? I have a 4mm difference. So in my mind. If I install this bushing I will have 4mm worth of play.
My question is do you think this is normal and ok? Can I make up the 4mmwhen I tighten the upper control arm to the bushing? Or is this going to cause a clunk??
Looking for people who have installed this item for help.
I'm going to look into this for you when I get into work tomorrow. I'm thinking that you ended up with either the wrong sleeve or one that wasn't made right. We'll get this taken care of for you!
Ok, I just pulled a few off the shelf and checked them... Looks like you just got an improperly cut sleeve. Shoot me a PM with your shipping info, and I'll get a new sleeve headed your way.
Correct! You push the tapered end in though the drivers side, then push the drivers side piece though. How I have it assembled in the first picture, is how it should look once finished.
