I just put new Brembo brake pads on to my GT. My factory ones have no shims on them and never had an issue. New ones come with shims and brake quiet. I put brake quiet on back of pads but didn't install shims. Is this fine? I haven't driven car yet and won't be till tomorrow, but just checking if this is right or replacement pads I need to put them on for some reason.

Performance wise it shouldn't make a bit of difference. Some pads are more susceptible to noise and maybe that is why they include them with their pads.

Same here. OEM didn't have them and neither set of Carbotechs came with any.

I've never used shims. What brand of pads?

OEM Brembo pads, Motorcraft.

I drove car yesterday and they where perfectly fine without the shims. That's why was confused when I opened the box up and had shims included.
