I would not think so, it is connected right at the light.

I don't have a back up camera.

Just my two cents/input; check local and /state laws if you're concerned about legality. I am a technician for various local law enforcement agencies and know that it is illegal to flash the third brake light in Illinois. In fact, it is illegal for civilians to flash any brake lights but even illegal for police and sheriff to flash the third brake light. No manufacturer of tail light flashers for public safety vehicles includes a connection for the third brake light.
