Any tips on blacking out the pony? It seems like it could be more of a pain

The pony that comes on our cars is actually black plastic before it gets chromed by Ford. I bought one on Ebay that hadn't yet been chromed for like $15. Never have to worry about it chipping or peeling as it's black all the way through.

Just Plastidipped my rear emblem. Looks freaking SICK.

I'm doing my wheels next. I can't decide if I want to paint (gloss black, nothing faggy) over the plastidip, though.

Hey Allinon how did you get your pony so dark? I put 5 coats on and it seems lighter then yours.

Waiting for someone to attempt a strip with this stuff..... ;) Would love to remove my flat black stripe and do it !!

I'm thinking the same thing. I might "spot paint" a small area, like the trunk lid on the inside, and see if it adheres well and will come off easily. I've got two cans here at the house. Been wanting to do my emblems but haven't had the time with the other things I've been doing to the car. Will probably try this out over the coming week. I would LOVE to put black stripes on my car!!

My pony is painted with satin black paint...didn't use Plastidip on that one. I only used Plastidip on my GT emblems.

I was under the impression that the plasti-dip is actually a good primer to paint over...

Well...I curbed my rim :mad2: I ended up taking it all off, sanding the metal and repainting the rim. I guess...it's a good thing I use plasti-dip :boobies: I dont see why you cant paint over it...paint would adhere to it perfectly I would think.-shane
