Does the ceramic coating actually reduce under hood temps?

Some argue that hot gases scavenge better so theoretically wrapped headers would increase performance since the heat is kept in the insulated headers more keeping the exhaust gases hotter. Is it noticeable though?

My Bassanis were coated and the engine bay didn't seem as hot when running them.

Few years ago when the coatings were catching on I knew a guy with a 72 Vette with a 496 in it. We were doing some work on it as he was getting it running after a paint job. We'd shut down the engine and I was able to touch the headers within a couple minutes. That helped when checking the plugs. After that experience I believed in ceramic coatings.

If wrapping is soo bad, why are all the turbo guys exh. plumbing not falling apart? Those can get white hot.
