Time for a dumb question, guys. I don't know of any good local shops so I'm asking here.

With the new engine and Hot Rod cams, my car is much louder than before. I'm running stock exhaust except for cat deletes and it used to sound nice and mellow, now it's loud as shit! I picked up some Borla Touring mufflers and haven't installed them yet but I know they will be even louder than the stock Bullitt mufflers. I'd like to add some resonators in the mid pipe but have absolutely no idea what type or brand to buy. There are hundreds to choose from.

Since I don't know of any good exhaust shops, I'll most likely cut and clamp them in myself. Then once I have them positioned I'll remove the pipes and take them to my welder buddy to weld them in place. I don't think I want somebody splattering welds all over the underside of my car.

I'd like to know this too, especially once I install the Paxton.

Thanks Brian, I didn't want to be the one to ask LOL!

A little bit but it definitely got rid of the raspiness. Gave my exhaust a deeper tone.

These resonators have been working great for me from JPC. Just use the drop down to choose either the 2.5" or 3" size. I would ask them if they will fit over the mid pipe or if they are the same exact diameter. If they are the same you could just pick up some stainless steel band clamps from your local auto parts store to temporarily hold them in place.

I'm assuming the longer they are the more effective they are? The ones from JPC are only 12", I've seen others 16"-18". I've also seen prices from $40 to $120 or more.

I'm about to add some 3" resonators to mine. Once I deleted the cats, it got too raspy and loud. I'm hoping to tone it down a bit.

Brian, the ones i posted i run daily on my car. I actually installed 2 sets of powersticks on my car, similar to the SW catback.

Correct. Not sure how any of the ones below will affect hp but they may cut down on the noise.

I ordered and installed resonators from JPC, which I think were Vibrant brand I think, after I put the M90 on and went to a off road H. There was some rasp, so I had a shop weld in the resonators and the sound was cleaned up to be nice and throaty! I think you will be very happy if you choose to weld some in, I would suggest the welding vice clamping as it is just one more place for an exhaust leak.

Yup, 3'' resonators cured the rasp I got with Gt500s and off road x. It sounds nice and clean now, and it tamed the noise a bit too. Now I think I'll replace the x with an h....
