Just installed Shelby hood pins yesterday. Talk about nerve wracking drilling through the hood. But I'm happy with the way they look. Here she is after her Sunday bath. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366556601.028823.jpg

Looks good. Drilling through the hood would make me a little nervous too.

^^^ no kidding it was making me think twice. Ya the package did include the Drake instructions. The billet piece on the Hood says Shelby, it's all good to me.

looks good and looks like you did a good job.
i just installed the ones from pirate and drilling through the hood with a 3/4 hole saw did make me take a stepback. i just couldnt bring myself to use the lanyard wire to attach to the pin.

Those look like the Scott Drake ones. I was shitting bricks when I decided to put those on and drill through my Steeda hood, LOL! Really makes you say to yourself, "Do you REALLY, REALLY need these hood pins?" LOL!!

If you used the Steeda hood, then it's fiberglass.
How did you overcome the rough cut look from inside the hood?

I'm trying to figure out what to do.
When I open the hood and look up at the holes, it's rough as fuck.

I did mine yesterday. They look great and no more hood flutter. That scared me more popping a hood in a highway.

They look great OP! I too was terriefied to drill into a perfectly good hood, but this cowl hood would shake pretty good just going anything above 80mph. I had some Aerocatch ones I was going to install, but after reading you have to cut like a 3in square I said "Forget that!" Lol

This is what I used instead of the 3/4 hole saw and it was way cheaper. For 2 I think it was around $8 ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366651726.883472.jpg

I just drilled up to the largest drill bit I had which was 1/2 in and then continued with the grinding bit.

I had the Scott Drake hood pins on my 07, and I absolutely loved them. Gave the car a really tough look. I was like you guys, really nervous about drilling through a perfectly good hood. But that's what we do, right?

Now drillling/sawing the opening for my Shaker hood scoop, now THAT was nerve racking!

I'm about to do the same thing but I picked a shelby gt hood scoop. Here are some pics not my car but doing the same thing.

Yeah man, just measure really good. Then measure it again. And once you think you've got it right, measure it a couple more times before putting a saw to it!

When we did mine, my wife and I measured the thing over and over again for lit'rally like two hours before actually making the first cut. We spent more time measuring and taping the hood than we did doing the install! LOL But it came out perfect!

Sorry for the thread jack/

^^^ like you said I measured probably 10 times myself and then had my brother check a few more times.

I thought about doing the hood shaker at one point since I had a Mach 1 prior to the 05 and really miss the shaker look sitting at a light. But cutting a hole that big would require lots of patience and time.
