Ive heard mixed things as well.
It sounds like they will physically fit but the spring rates are not ideal.

You should have posted this in the suspension sub-section BTW
This section seems to be more about the drivetrain

This isn't tech? Really?

The springs fit fine... you don't need the GT500 mounts for the springs to work, that's a different deal entirely.

As for the rates not being ideal. Well, that's a matter of opinion, and I happen to like most "older" spring sets better than those that have 2011 specific sets.

I read somewhere before i bought my kit, that the 2011 and 12 kits will work on the older cars, but will lower them much more.

So a kit for the 09 and older may not lower your 2012 as much as you think.

Just try the rears and see how much of a difference, they are the easiest :)

We have many customers running our previous designed lowering springs (2005-2010) on the newer 2011+....with the same results.

The rates of the springs changed by a minimal amount on the 2011+.

All of the 2005-2012 Springs will interchange.

Our newly designed lowering springs feature a slightly stiffer rear rate, as we would not feel comfortable recommending our previous design to the 2011+ Mustang owners.

Here is a 2011 with our "2005-2010" spec springs:

The "New" BMR Lowering Springs, on a 2008 Shelby GT500. (2011 specific rates)

Hope that helps.

What would be the best setup for lowering the car AND still getting a good 60'

I know the stock springs have proven good on the 11+ model

I want it lower but I mostly drag race

I would have to sway towards our BMR Springs being the best lowering spring for straight line performance. Due to the design of our springs, they do not eliminate all of the weight transfer characteristics.

We are running a sale on them right now, 15% off and flat rate shipping....so if you are finding a time to jump on them, now is it! You can use the code; TG2011 until 6:00 PM EST tonight.

If you have any specific questions about our springs, please feel free to ask!

I went 1.45 60's with Koni STR.T shocks/struts, Ford K Springs, GT500 mounts, UMI LCA/Brackets. 295/55/15 MT ET Street Radials on Weld RT-S 15x10 rims. Nitrous off the launch.

I did 1.56 60's NA.
