It really is big. And HEAVY! I've had a lot of engines on that cherry picker, but this one is by far the heaviest. Down the road I'd like to upgrade to an aluminum block to help offset some of the added weight I just tossed over the front wheels.

Just wait for the 5.8 block to become available through frpp.

That's awesome, I'd like to do this swap myself some day on my Saleen. Can't wait to see the final pics, what kind of wheels are they?

Sweet build! I'd love to get a smashed 13 GT500 and do the same thing!

This is the truth. My garage is heated and cooled. It's well lit. I have a nice stereo in there I connect my iphone to. It's comfortable in a garage kind of way. Last night while dropping the motor in I had a pretty amazing Eric Clapton and BB king set playing (I'm a sucker for blues). So even though I'm working, it's a place I want to be.

Anyway, so last night I couldn't sleep, so I went ahead and dropped the motor/trans in. Now I just have to work on final assembly.

That engine looks right at home in your GT. Keep up the great progress!
