I went out to Fast Friday, a test and tune, at Texas Motorplex last night. I haven't been to the track since last November, and at the time I was on the stock Pirellis, stock tune, and stock springs. Once I improve my 60' I should be in the high 11s. Then I'll use the nitrous and aim for the high 10s.

This was my fourth and final pass of the night before the track was closed at midnight.

are you taking it easy on the rear end until you beef up? I would think your rear end/tire should be able to handle a higher launch rpm? I'm trying to figure out what rpm to launch myself...but I have solid rear vs. your irs.

Yes, I'm taking it easy because I'd like to run some this season before I snap a half shaft.

That's what I was thinking as well. I used to run 11.90 at 118.

Looks like good times!

Once I get my 60' down, I know she has a 11.8 in her. I told Lucas, razorback, that I knew she had a 118 trap in her, and the next run I did it lol.

Thanks!

48' DA is unreal here in Texas. The last time I went to the Motorplex it was +1660!

Nice run! Looks like it is charging hard on the big end with that +27mph.

Yeah, it was great air that night despite the track surface being a little cold.

Thanks! She definitely pulls hard once I'm in the top of 3rd gear and all through 4th. My gearing and tire height are perfect right now IMO. 1/8th I'm passing through the traps around 7,100RPM in 3rd. 1/4 mile I'm passing through the traps around 6,900-7,000RPM in 4th.

From what I've gathered, bias ply wouldn't be a good choice for me. I drive my car quite a bit on the street and mixing tire construction is dangerous. Radial up front, bias out back. I'm all ears though, so educate me on bias ply.

The radials are harder on your car, more likely to break something. Bias ply tires give you some wiggle room. I wouldnt run a bias ply as a daily, but at the track you would be fine. The sway isnt as bad as people make it out to be.

Oh alright, well, I'm not too worried about breaking something since I know I'm on borrowed time with the half-shafts and I'll replace them with some FR units when that happens. They've held up to 2,500-3K RPM launches so far. I even dead hooked yesterday on one run lol.
