i think the picture is deceiving....according to all the measurements they're actually wider than other brands this size

I'm not a big fan of the gt500 wheels but I must say this setup looks damn good man this is how they should have come from the factory ..... not too much fender gap and not too little tire . I will be running a 305/40-255/45 setup on mine with a 1.5" drop so it should basically look the same as yours if so I will finally be happy lol .

the rear is too much, 285/40R18 or a 295/40R18, the only company that makes the 295 in a 40 sidewall is Falken. other than that looks great!!!

at first i thought on other cars they were a little tall...but in order to fill the fender gap in the rear and to help with the 4.56 gears i run...they're the perfect fit imho

this is basically the best of both worlds...i can still cruise now comfortably at 70mph and then swap to my 265/40/18's and ghetto skinnies for track duty

Looks good, I may end up with GT500 take offs and similar tire sizing. Those pics are perfect for helping when I make my final decision.

Tell me about it, I had the Falkens on mine (295/40 & 255/40), havent decided if I'm going with them again. Tough finding that size or very similiar in a tacky tire that is not a drag radial.

i would look at 315/35R18's by toyo called the TQ...its a new drag radial and it has a similar size to OEM roush tires(26.6). if you ran a 275/40R18 up front.

that is what i am going to run once the winter is over on some americanmuscle knockoff FR500 wheels...18x9 and 18x10

Was that directed at me? I am purposely avoiding drag radials, I like the corners (yes I realize what my sig pic is, that was for sh**s & giggles). I am also purposely avoiding replicas, I was not pleased with their durability.

That is why the GT500 take-offs might be what I end up with, decent width & price, are 18's, and clear BBK's.

i didnt read your statement too well...if you wanna get a wide tire and keep the overall height try the nt555r road radial...i believe they have our sizes in some really wide meats.

also the knockoffs are cheap and they weigh alot but the durability doesnt seem to be any less than OEM wheels. the wheels you should look out for would be the ROTA's and knock off korean wheels that use low grade aluminum which tends to break at the rim center due to improper design.

Holy Sh#t, how the hell did that happen?

Cutoff on the highway, cold tires, rear end got happy and then snapped a 180. Hit the Jersey barrier parallel, both wheels hit at the same time and snapped them both. Now I think any wheels would have been damaged, but these in my opinion crumbled. The shop that fixed the car has been in business 60+ years and has never seen this.

Sort of a morbid momento, but I may make a clock out one of them :screw:
