I have a 2007 GT w/automatic trans and I am seriously considering a set of long tube headers as an early spring project. Looking at the reviews of most headers many have said that their particular brand of header is great which makes choosing one brand over another a bit difficult. I was looking hard at the Kooks headers but I am not locked into them as of yet. I am looking for some opinions from those who have longtubes such as installation ease, quality, fitment, brand, etc. Stock catted pipes or catted X pipes? My car has Detroit Rocker cams and a FRPP CAI with 276 HP at the wheel and Flowmaster axlebacks with a Brenspeed tune.

Thanks!!

Tech forums are for tech, not opinions on what part to buy. This is a prime example of what type of thread goes in the Mustang chit-chat forum.

i ran the Pypes with O/R X and stock catback (had pypes muffler deletes and it was stupid loud and the drone....oh god the drone...) my only gripe with the Pypes is that the primaries on the pass side would buzz a little on decel due to them running so close to each other. the install and fitment of them was great!

My apologies for getting some of you upset for accidentally posting in the wrong section. And yes, I did do a search but there was not much info that I was able to find. Sorry to have bothered you.

There's more than enough information to keep you reading for days.

Make sure you buy a BBR tune, I hear they are the best!

I prefer American made, Kooks, Stainless Works, ARH. I had a buddy with fitment issues on a set of Pypes.

I have JBA longtubes... held up just fine and I'm the third car they've been on. Very happy, considering I spent less than half the price of new.

One search string and a few mins of looking....

so really how much effort did you put in??

one of the rules of the board is to search first... I cannot believe you made much of an effort

I have pypes and they fit perfect. Make sure you get the Percy gaskets and with cams your gonna need a resonator mid mounted. Its gonna be loud as fuck with trumpeting. Resonarors will cure it, tone will deep and nasty with your flows.

Gloves and 13mm flexhead racheting box wrench will make life way simpler for the install.

I would like to thank those who actually provided some useful info without being a wise ass.

Now, to those who decided to blast someone who never did anything to harm this site but blasted him nonetheless because he posted in the wrong area, then gave him a "reputation point", well get a fucking life. Are we in kindergarten here, giving out demerit points? You got to be shitting me. I have been a member of various sites both cars and bikes and have never seen this kind of childish crap. Most of these sites treat people with respect and dignity. As someone who got back into cars after a 20 year lay-off I thought this site was the bomb when I first came here, but if this is all it takes for me to make your shit list....see ya. Go ahead and ban me now.
