polish stock fuel rails

polished up my stock fuel rails

I sanded with the following grits with soapy water

320, 800, 1000,1500,2000

then I used some blue majic chrome polish.

this was all dne by hand no buff wheel or drill.

looks good now take them and have them powder coated with a clear coat to preserve the shine.

The above poster is right....
It's really tough to keep them nice under the hood..Find some more AL.
to polish, and then take it all in at once, save $$.
PS: if you have a "menards" store, they sell a metal polish, cheap,
that works great on AL. In a green bottle, called Nexol.
I think it's a copy of the old Flitz formula.

Since I don't know anything about this, did u sand it down in that order? How do you know when to switch sandpaper? How long did it all take you?

That would be polished rims that look like sh*t now, Theyre in bad shape and i would like to get them like new again. thanks

Yeah you could....but you would have to have them cleared or they would rust. Just have them powdercoated.
