Seen alot of people talking about this, oil starvation up in the heads during cold starts, then causes lash adjusters and rocker arm failures. Can anyone elaborate on this. I noticed the other day when it was 20 degrees outside when I started my 05 gt it did tick for a min then went away. My 2004 f150 5.4 3G use to do this as well. Do I have anything to worry about on my gt. I have read horror stories, about this.

Also what can expect this stock 05gt 5sp to run in the 1/8th? When my 96 cobra was stock it ran a 8.8 it's first time. I would hope this 05 gt would be in that area.

The '05 cars had a TSB or something about the lash adjusters causing noise. I'm pretty sure the part number even changed due to this. My '05 has a new 302 stroker block and I used the the original lash adjusters which are not noisy at 17k miles. What weight oil are you using? The fact that your noise went away after a cold start changes things.
