Those are awesome numbers, and that's a nice broad power band. Must feel like an animal (I'm sure that's an understatement).

Innovators West Balancer

Regarding the Innovators West balancer. While running the last tests, I wanted to achieve more boost without having any belt slip issues . The best and easiest way to do this is overdrive the crank, and keep a larger pulley on the blower. So we purchased an Innovators West overdrive crank balancer which by calculation should have been good for 3+psi. Stock crank pulley is 6.6 in, the new IW crank pulley was 7.5in. We installed the crank pulley and made a few pulls on the car to see where we were at boost wise. As expected we saw 3psi peak. After the few pulls, I began working on the torque tables for the bigger Kenne Bell 168mm t-body. Using the brake on the dyno I was applying load to the car running the rpm consistantly from 1500-4000 light to moderate throttle to mimmick cruise and light accel. While on the dyno, just cruising at 3k rpms loaded on the dyno , I heard a ding ding and looked at the gauges.NO OIL PRESSURE. Shut the car down, and called it a day.

Came to work Monday, checked the car, verified no oil pressure. Pulled the engine and found a broken oil pump(knew it already, just wanted to confirm). Called Ford ordered a oil pump next day air, got it Wed. Pulled the engine, installed the new pump,re-installed the engine and hit the rollers Friday morning. Made a some light pulls on the car at med throttle loading the car to finish the t-body tuning. Was satisfied with the throttle response and manners, so it was time for a pull. First pull at 7 k...ding ding..oil light back on. Turned the car off but the crank didnt survive this round.

WT#@$*!!! The only thing different here is????? THE OVERDRIVE PULLEY.

I have run the car at 14-16lbs of boost a ton with ZERO issues. The boost with the new balancer was never over 11lbs, as I was reworking the throttle tables for drivability. Bottom line , the crank driven oil pumps CAN NOT handle harmonics , and the balancer defintely wasnt doing its job. I have beat the hell out of the car on the street at 710 hp without any issues. Again, the only thing that was changed was the balancer and this was the first failure.

So now I have an ATI balancer for the car, along with forged internals. Looking for some solid numbers and ETs here in the near future. we will be dropping the engine back in next week, and Ill finish my 2.8 testing, and will be installing the 3.6LC. My prediction...Street driven with perfect manners, low 9 sec ride , full street trim.
Ill get some more updates after next week with the rest of the goodies. Thanks Adam

heres the dyno fo the 2 4in pulley runs with both crank pulleys.

So u got to 700 rwhp all on the stock motor?? What I want to do when I get mine is just jump straight to the 3.6LC and run low boost n make no more than 600 till I forge the rods n pistons.. U think it's possible to make it last on 600 with the 3.6??

The reason why I want the 3.6 is because it's gonna eventually be forged and obviously I dont want to buy a 2.8 and then later want the bigger one.

I have a new crate engine here from Ford Racing. All stock, un-molested. Im pondering on throwing it in the car stock with a 3.6 for some R&D to see how it will react. I will let you know in the next day or 2 what I decide on this. Its good info to know on if a 3.6 will worked turned down on a stock engine. Its alot of work to be pulling engine in and out, but on that note, Im always down for some good R&D and knowledge. Thanks Adam

He did bring the wife's 2010 Camaro and I believe that was in the high 10s.

Yup, I did come out for the street legal race. Its the first one Ive been to in 3-4 years. I had several customer cars there the as well, with many of them running in the 10's.
As for the wifes camaro, we ran in full street trim on 91pump and slicks . Ran 10.90's consistantly. Not bad for a 4200lb pig. Ill be putting together a track rental next month for at the ST customers, so be looking for a nice video showing off our cars.
Thanks Adam

We are doing an ATI Balancer on my motor as well. BES is pretty good with their machine work. I'm hoping for a nicely balanced rotating assembly! ;)

Nice meeting you there Adam. I was the slow Kona Blue '11 you smoked twice in the Camaro. I didn't get a single clean run in all day.

I agree, a lot of people were saying they were around 3 tents off their usual times! damn Fontana track, I miss the good old days of running at Pomona, that is by far the best track around the L.A. area!
