I had an appointment to get my car tuned on Thursday at Fastlane Motorsports in Benson NC. I had to cancel my appointment the week before because our Batallion memorial was that day. I rescheduled for Thursday. I wrote it on my calendar as I was talking to them on the phone. Well, Wednesday I called to see if I could get a start up tune to drive it to them. They said "sure, but you're not scheduled for Thursday. You missed your appointment on Tuesday." That's impossible because I would never have scheduled a Tuesday since thats the day I have my Physical Therapy. Then they told me they had Thursday morning open. Then called me a couple hours later and said it wasn't open anymore and that they'll send me a start up tune so I can drive it around until they get me an opening.

Well, its Friday now and I've been promised this tune for THREE days. Have not received it. Today, I was PROMISED it would be in my mailbox by 5:30pm. It was not. I am so pissed right now. This place did this same shit last time I went to get tuned by them. I'm beginning to think they just got SOOOO much business, they don't give a fuck.

I swear to God I wish I had another choice in NC so I NEVER had to do business with them again!!!!!

Oh and this is now the last time I'll be able to drive the car since I am not going to be able to drive for two months at least after my surgery next Thursday. As if surgery wasn't depressing enough, now I cant even enjoy my car my last weekend of freedom. GOD I WANT TO BREAK SOMETHING RIGHT NOW!!!

Just a random thought here, why not an email tune? There are a few good choices available. Lito, Eric Brooks, and VMP come to mind. Lito is well known on this forum for his ability to tune mild to wild setups remotely. Brookspeed and VMP would be within a reasonable driving distance if you really wanted a dyno tune.

There just isn't any reason to be held hostage by a local shop, you have better choices available to you without the hassle.

I got real tired of being held hostage by tuners.....it's taken me 2 years to get a handle on tuning and now I'm so glad I can handle it on my own for the most part....even the ones that know what they are really doing will not spend the time needed to get things 100%.... When its good enough to drive out the door then they just want to get paid! ( atleast some of the ones I have dealt with around here!)

Have you thought of Pro-Dyno in Fort Mill SC (just south of Charlotte) I know it is a hall from Jacksonville but I have a friend who swears by them and he drives up from Columbia SC. I plan on using them when I add a Paxton, they are about 2 hours from me.

If anyone on here who tunes remotely is interested, I need it done ASAP and can get a dyno to use locally!!! lol. I'm desperate man. I don't want to be prisoner to Fastlane Motorsports. They couldn't even get it right the first time. Tried telling me one of my pumps was bad. it wasn't. but my dumbass paid them anyways. fml

Word of friendly advise, stay the fuck away from Fastlane. Caleb fucked my car all up with his shitty tune. I got the same runaround with the follow up tunes, which I should never need after a dyno session. When I talked to them about the tune they fed me some line of bull about they would not just have Caleb drive my car but have Ryan drive my car as well to ensure drivability was good with a cammed 3V. After the dyno and shooting the shit they never drove it. I couldn't get home 45 minutes away and the car started driving like shit, stalling and surging. Took forever to get anything emailed from them once I told them about the issues. I took it back a week later and it was just worse. In fact he flat out gave up on tuning my shit. He never could get the car to idle or drive right, he tried to band-aid fix it with a high idle but the car still drove like shit. I told them that if they thought something was mechanically wrong with it then show me and let's fix it. After that I never heard back from them. Stay away from Piedmont Custom Motorsports as well, cost me $2500 in rear end work and damage to brand new parts. I don't remote tune so I have to take my shit out of state to have it done.

NO WAY?? They didn't respond to your emails?? You had a problem with your tune and they blamed someone else?? Sounds SOOOO familiar! FUCK FASTLANE.

I took y'alls advice and wrote Lito. I just REALLY want to drive the car before I go under. I've done so much work to it and to sit there and wonder what she'll be like for 2 months...ugh.

Glad you posted this, was under the impression Fastlane was good to deal with. Nice to know who to avoid.

No. Stay away. I've heard a lot of stories about them and I have had two terrible experiences with them. I left them a nasty message today after not getting the startup that they PROMISED would be there by 5:30. It ended with me screaming "I just want someone to send me this God Damned tune!!"

I have no problem telling people to stay away after they treat a customer like that.

Lito said he will fit me in this weekend. Pretty stoked!!

FastLane are pretty busy most of the time. They did a good job with my car and i was happy with the results. you might have to call them a few times or leave them a message but they will get back to you. Sad they couldnt get you the tune you wanted or fit you in but like i said they are usually busy around this time of the year. You should try Brenspeed if you havent tried Lito already.
