I have a black stang and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I take the car to school/work and it bakes out in the sun. It is garaged though so its not all bad. I am looking for a wax that will protect my paint and keep it looking good for the long term. I have been using meguires gold products but those only last for a about 2 weeks or less, then the water doesn't bead anymore and I get water spots. I am tired of having water spots all over the car when I am done drying it that wont come off no matter what I do unless I wash it again. Yes I do wash at night, im not dumb lol. What product do you guys recommend for lets say around $50 or under to protect my black stang in Vegas 100+ degree sun? Thanks!

Optimum Poli Seal + Optimum Opti Seal (which is a terrific wipe on, walk away sealant). I also recommend using Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 as a base since it is a nano coating proven to last about 3 years.

Alternatively, I also like Chemical Guys Black Light and V07 Spray Sealant, it won't last as long as the Optimuim offering but it is extremely easy to use.

I would skip a traditional wax living in the desert, as Carnauba has a burn off point of 185*F which your black panels see those temps easily in that type of sun.

The only traditional "Carnauba" based wax that lasts in those types of temps is Chemical Guys Lava, and it sits around $70.

Visit autoality.com they offer both sets of products and have been known to have some of the best competitive pricing in the industry. Tell them I sent you :D

^ What Seer said.
The Opti-caot 2.0 would probably be a good investment.

I am liking the Duralgloss 501 topped with 601/105 or 111. I plan on using this through the winter because of the longevity.

Black light and v07 are also very good products but like mentioned above, dont last as long as others. Plus, BL has fillers so it could be beneficial if you have any defects.

Yep, Poli Seal also has fillers/abrasives. It is a hybrid like BL is. Opti Seal is a spray sealant like V07. Very similar products, except the Optimum products last a little longer.

Would the Optimum products you suggested be good for a candy apple red car that sits outside all day everyday in Florida?

What I just said above. There truly aren't products for colors. You are applying product to a clear coat. Some make some colors pop more but that's it.

Thanks for the heads up about those prodects. Those opti products look very nice, I am thinking that opti seal looks good for me. I have a few questions about getting a porter cable if you dont mind. My car is black, and it has 78K miles on it. The front end has the obvious chips and road rash, and I would like to make it good again. would you recommend this kit to a beginner to correct some swirls and see what I can do with the front end?

seems like a good price for the porter cable with pads and compounds.

Don't be scared to piece together all the items in that kit yourself (as opposed to buying the kit) and looking for discount codes. When I bought my PC, I looked at one of the kits from autogeeks and put all the items I wanted together with a coupon code and saved about $20. I'm not broke, but $20 saved is $20 saved.

I would not recommend it as the polishes are not of good quality, and the CCS pads are known to gunk up polish.

I would give Eric at autoality.com a call and discuss perhaps the PC7424 XP and the Meguiars 105/205 compound/polish with Hydrotech pads. I am sure he can build you a kit to fit your budget no problem.

He also stocks and sells Optimum Poli Seal and Opti Seal. Tell him I sent you, he'll take care of you.

I just placed an order for poli seal and opti seal. Can't really go wrong with seer's recommendation lol. And they were cheaper than BL&V07 too!
Can Opti seal be used on window, plastic, and wheels too like V07?

yes it can.

Make sure you share your experience with opti seal and how it applies, I am betting you will have a "what the heck that was way to easy and different" moment.

I got my products yesterday in the mail, and did one coat of poli-seal followed by one coat of opti seal. The stuff is awesome, really made the car glossy and look fantastic. I was going to take some pics but it rained today and the car got dirty almost right away.
( I can report the water just beads and falls right off the car like no other!!) I am going to give it a rinse tomorrow and post some pics, thanks seer!

Where are those pics dude?

I used my PC 7424xp with some Meguiars #2 swirl remover and some NXT Gen Tech wax on my buddies red z06 today. He was blown away at the results. If you have never used an orbital buffer, its very simple to use and makes polishing the car so much easier. Yes you end up doing more coats but man the results are amazing.

#2 swirl remover is a filler, you're not removing swirls with a standard orbital.

sorry I took so long to post pics, and sorry they are cell pics. The car is very glossy and looks very rich. The only thing is that my front end looks awful now because the paint is so nice looking
that all of the imperfections and rock chips show like no other in direct sunlight. 80K miles worth of highway rock chips, I wish I had a porter cable to try and make it look a little better. The rest of the car looks great though and I noticed that the car takes longer to get dirty now. Its been almost a week since I washed it and its still not very dusty and I have driven it every single day.
