I have not seen any new threads lately about these things failing. Did Ford get them sorted out?

No ford told the cry babies to pound salt so everyone shut up about it now.

I wonder if this thread has the same shot at getting as big as the ''drove an intake/tune 5.0'' thread.....

Mine works great at 13,000 miles btw....

My MT82 car worked flawlessly. I never had any trouble out of it. I would never put a large amount of hp/tq in front of it.

I have 40k on mine, shifting into second is a little clunky.

When I start in 2nd instead of first, about 1 out of 10 times it'll pop out of gear and I have to muscle it in. But it's been like that since day one and hasn't gotten any worse

Other than that I have no issues

Exactly what mine does.

I grinded 2nd pretty bad at the track the other week but my car had sat in the staging lanes for about an hour and a half in 36* weather while the officials contemplated shutting the track down. On the way home it didn't make a peep after it warmed back up. Go figure.

First one was garbage and broke at 900 miles... second one has been running good for about 3,800 miles without any issues.

Revolution Performance has an upgrade kit for them, pair that with a RXT Twin Disk and call it a day.

It is a legitimate question. It seemed like all the threads about problems stopped.

No trolling intended.

a lot of people just didnt understand that is a noisier transmission. A lot of folks from other forums were coming from bmw and mercedes so they were not aware that american performance cars make noise.

I have had no issues with the MT82. As a matter of fact, mine makes no noise at all. I thought may be there was a problem with the lack of noise until I found out that it is equipped with a sound tube that pours out into China.

Mine is notchy going in to second if it is not warmed up. I have 5,00 miles on the car. Otherwise, no issues.

Point made, the transmission goes through the same manufacturing process, just different people have differing opinions or placebos.

I have a 2013 with the MT82 and installed the Barton Shifter and Bracket. I have about 2500 miles on the car. With the shifter the throw is nice and short and no more problems with the 2-3 shift.

Going into 1st is clunky (as if the synchros are not fully aligned) at first, but going to neutral and back to first is easy.

I have noticed that it is noisier with the Barton, but chalk it up to the shifters solid design. I also need to re-check the rubber boot to make sure it is fully on to cut down on the noise.

10k miles on mine to date. No major issues, same as most I assume. Slightly clunky 1-2 shift when cold (no grind though, just rough), same in left turns, and more gear noise than I'd like. Otherwise it shifts smooth and I like the ratios. The MGW shifter was a nice upgrade. If I'd never read all the stuff on the web about this, I'd probably never think about it. Every manual tranny I've owned has had some sort of rough edge here and there but I focus on it a bit more after all the internet horror stories.
