So how did the phone call go???? Just seeing how this was handled will keep me from making any purchases through them. Restocking fee on used shit, i still cant believe that one. IMO the fact that the door bars were cut should have been stated in the original ad, which it wasnt. In fact cobra drifter asked about damage and this was your reply,

I'll have to ask him that next time I see the customer :) He just got a Raptor and we'll be putting a whipple on it :)

There are some scratches but very minor... this is a $3000 rollbar being sold for $1000. The side bars were custom bent to maximize getting in and out of the car easily :)

i havent called him yet. I figure i will wait a little bit since he is in California. I will update on how the call goes. I appreciate you posting how he described the cage to someone else because thats how he described it to me basically. He never once mentioned that i "may" need to replace the door bar receiver like he is saying. There is no "may" to it. It IS a MUST. lol

I hate when people try to justify their mistakes. You may sell 1000 items with no issues but the first time you fuck up and then act like an asshole about it when it was your mistake, that basically voids all that positive feedback you have received and makes me never want to buy from you. I'd just fix the issue, chalk it up as a loss and lesson learned and keep your credibility while you still have it.

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Mike. He has offered to split me on the cost to have it sent back to RPM and get fixed to make it certified. As long as its not a crazy high price to have it fixed, I will split the costs with him. I hate to have to spend any more money on top of what i have already spent, but I am just ready to get this issue resolved. I am now waiting on a call back from RPM to give me a price on getting it fixed. Hopefully we can get this issue resolved.

We have resolved this and the rollbar will be sent to RPM to have them upgrade it to what Orem needs.

Unfortunately, we were trying to help a customer out by parting out a car he had wrecked and honestly I will NEVER do it again... we're a performance shop and which does alot of installs and parts sales. I thought helping out a customer by trying to help him get some of his money back would be the right thing to do but it's been nothing but a PITA. Trying to find boxes for odd sized parts... this was LAST time we will ever help a customer part out a car.

The reason I asked Orem to wait till today to resolve it was because the rollcage did not belong to us and I had to talk to the customer about what he wanted to do to get this resolved.

So I spoke to all parties needed today and came to resolution to take care of Orem

This is the first time I've seen anything negative about you. Surely you can understand just from the pictures why he was upset? I agree that the "certified" thing was just both of you not knowing what the other expected, but the leg being cut off would've surprised me too. In the future, maybe more effective communication as to the reason why you can't resolve it on the buyer's time schedule would help make it a little more smooth.

Like I said, this is the first thing I've seen negative, and I'm glad you got it resolved. I'd do business with you.

Parting out a car really is a pain in the ass. It's more work than anyone would think.

Glad you guys got it resolved.

I understand his position and I just needed some time to talk to all parties involved to come up with a solution...

I told you the driver side bar may be damaged and need replacing... how is that making the whole piece useless? All that is is the mounting plate to hold the passenger bar... it has NOTHING to do with the main roll cage.

The main problem is you didn't do enough research on what type of roll cage you needed for your application. Like I said... I will help you but within reason...

Did you ever mention that the harness bar was not welded to the hoop, or did you forget to mention that and hope that the buyer would see that for themselves in the picture?

That's kind of a dick move if you never mentioned it...

No one tried to deceive him with what I sold him... he called and said he wanted the cage. When a customer calls and tells me he wants a product I generally don't ask them what they are using it for. We install ALOT of cages that do not have the harness bar or is detachable... having a detachable harness bar doesn't make it a bad cage.... it just doesn't work for his application.

No one tried to pull a "dick move" as your implying... unless you know the facts please don't make assumptions.

Really? Something like a rollbar, no mention of what type of competition might be legal with this model of bar?

Whatever.
