Think about it like pushing a filing cabinet.
If you push on a spot near the bottom of the filing cabinet (stock lower control arm position), your feet will slip and it won't move effectively (wheel spin)
If you push too high on the filing cabinet (this would be the lowest hole on the relocation bracket for a stock height car), it will tip over and not move efficiently unless you don't push too hard.
If you find the right spot (either the top or middle hole) The filing cabinet will move smoothly and efficiently.

I'm trying to remember where I ran across this in cyberspace but it makes sense.

Lol!

I run UMIs. It's been forever since I put them on so I'd have to look to see what position they are in.

Ok gotcha, looks like I would have been REALLY stuck at the car wash if I had them in the middle hole lol.
I can probably take material off but I wouldn't have to touch the weld, just right under it.
I think you have 18's, does your bracket reach the edge of your rim, if you know?

^nope! I aint welding till I know they are going to be a permanent part of my car.

I know, Darren is going to have a seizure when he reads this.

Your never gonna take those back off.... At least not until you de-mod to move to the dark side.

Car wash? I have to agree with John on this one!

I used to wash, detail, wax... then someone sidswiped me on the highway, then some object hit my hood on the parkway and I slowly stopped caring about the paint since I can't have nothing nice.

Sad state of affairs. One day I will restore it to it's original glory.

According to Kelly @ BMR their newly designed lower control arm relocation brackets do not require to be welded.

So when are you going to move to redline clutch drops on a wrinkle wall slick?
