I'd say step #1 is try ditching the Boss intake. That's a lot of weight to pull out of the basement and I'd bet the stocker does it better.

people get seduced by hp numbers and don't know what happens when you loose power at mid rpm ranges with heavy wheels and stock gears.

I am in no way saying the boss intake is bad, I am saying on a heavier car the loss of mid range power can be seen. and you would not be the first person to see it.

I agree. It seems some people don't look at average hp/torque numbers instead of peak numbers.

wheels are heavy 31lbs the vossens were lighter. ill probaly switch over to some forgestars. im 6'3 450lbs hopefully by next season ill be more then 100lbs lighter and get weight out of the car as well. like i said before on the street the car feels like an animal, but at the track its different.

is the car lowered?

I doubt much of a difference - the other issues will out weigh

Relocation brackets and a proper pinion angle will help. However \/ this still is the biggest factor
I think 4200lbs isn't helping either.

109 mph isn't bad for 4200lbs. However at 109 mph I would think you should be in at least the 1.8 to 1.7 range minimum 60' wise with 434 rwhp.

the 305/45/18 is a pretty damn tall tire, combined with 4200lbs, its going to be hard to get that to 60 foot. How tall of a tire is that? 29 tall? Sounds huge.

Would have to be really big,

looks like I nailed that call :thumb2:

The weight is holding him back, but that would also be holding back his trap speed. His trap speed still shows there is a lot of room for improvement on the ET regardless of weight.

control arms will help. however your biggest gains right now will be seen in launching strategy, the tire stuff I talked about above, shifting at the right RPM, and lowering your race weight.

got some updated numbers from last week @ the track

1st run i ran the 2nd run i gave the car to my friend to drive, he bogged it @ the line and was shifting @ 64-6500 rpms

r/t .116 .067
60' 2.386 2.119
330 6.118 5.626
1/8 9.067 8.476
mph 83.19 87.15
1000 11.56 10.881
1/4 13.644 12.907
mph 108.65 111.73

my friend said he needs some more seat time in my car to bring the times down. how much lower you think it can come??? will he be able to do a low 12 sec pass or even maybe high 11's???

Easily low 12's, but now that you know you are not driving it like you should, why let him continue to drive it? Why not practice and learn your own car?

Every tire has different characteristics for heating, launching. Some need a huge burnout, some just need a light smoke. That being said, my Nitto R tires did NOT perform well under 50 degrees which can be part of your problem.

The other issue is "dead hooking" and a 2.1 is an oxymoron. You may be BOGGING not hooking so since you don't spin it may seem you hook but really need more RPM.

My tires did ok at 24 PSI same size at around 60 degrees but spun easily over or under 24 while doing a burn out to a very quick haze and launching at 6k in a manual. I never quite perfected it but the tires are definitely capable.

And 4200 lbs which I am sure is a little high since you're in a vert, you may be able to pull a mid 12 with about 112MPH on a so so launch. But at say a 1.7 as stated already you can easily see a low, low 12. Although, it is easier said than done hehe.

It is definitely a taller tire than most but I was also using a 305/18 on an 18x10 wheel and even at 1.8 60' times I was still bogging. I sold the car before I perfected it. I'll be back though hehe

Sounds like weight and those tall gears are killing you. I would think you'd want 4.10s with such a tall heavy tire set up.

4.10s are usually to deep for 11+ cars. first gear is really deep and 4th is not 1:1 like most older transmissions that we are used to.
