Hmm. They are all Bosch universals. Shoukd all be the same

As far as I understand they are not!!
The front sensors are specific for the PCM tuning, while the rears are dumbed down meaning less responsive.

Looking at the Ford parts; the fronts and rears have different part numbers.

Absolutely not all the same and I'm not just saying this to sell parts but every tuner I've ever heard from prefers OEM o2 sensors. Aftermarket generic stuff just doesn't work as well.

These are the OEM part numbers and our prices for a 2006 Mustang 4.6.

5C5Z*9F472*AA $45.29 each
5W6Z*9G444*AA $40.80 each

Listen to Steve, with O2 sensors OEM is the only way to go. The computer is just to finicky to try and mess with aftermarket sensors.

Alright people. I'm not goin crazy lol. I checked all parts stores around my area and they only carry Bosch sensors. 2 different part numbers, BUT. Both identical including the plugs that go into the harness. 1 is a tad longer but the sensor and plug are the same.

Then they have just a wire one that you splice in but the sensor is the same.

Why are you looking for O2 sensors at local part stores?
Go to your local Ford dealer or order it from Steve (TASCA) and use the right part. Going with a generic part like a generic Bosch sensor is not recommended.

I was having some issues with my tune running really lean when I had an aftermarket O2 sensor. On my 93 octane tune my car would ping with most available fuel, I could only run the BP 93 without it knocking. Once I went back to a Motorcraft O2 sensor that all cleared up.

Because I keep getting a p2197 code stuck lean. Even after I swapped the sensors... Hmm....

Yes. Onnnnly because the rears weren't stock to begin with. They were the Bosch "universals" that supposably sell as upstream and downstream. So I was testing to see if that would work

Like other have suggested, buy a whole set of Ford oxygen sensors; front and rear!!
Even though the rears do not affect tuning directly, the PCM does monitor them for catalytic health and does do some slight tune adjustments (IIRC).

Ok. Replaced all 4 sensors.

Under acceleration it still misfires a lot. Still getting code P2197

Should I rack some miles up on the new sensors before I come to other conclusions?
