So, what is a man to do these day when trying to sell a 3v GT?

There is a Carmax is Schaumburg. Only issue is they will tell you that they prefer it to be stock. I had my old 06 GT valued at Carmax while modded and they told me they would have given more stock. Then 1 year later got the same car valued with them stock. The stock amount was significantly higher even with more miles.

Very true and I can verify from experience from selling cars to Carmax.

Going through the same thing right now. Thinking of putting it back to stock and selling my mods online. If I go that route I would be selling it at 10-12 K for an 06 Gt with 77k. The 5.0 market has killed our value.

If it has mods I would say your best bet is Craigslist. Wait for a dumb kid to go all googly eyed for it. I've sold several vehicles that way.

Yea man posted it a few days ago but it attracted more tire kicks or kids trying to trade their swapped civics.

Strip it to stock and trade it in and be done with it. IMO.

Best option it seems in this market. Not like I am asking too much for my car 13k which is average for what has sold in area just think it is the mods putting people off. I was just been in lazy and isn't want to remove my stuff.

These cars are steals. I could sell an 09 like yours for 18-19 even with the mods.

Shep is right too. Craigslist and some kid will bite.

Use CarMax as a lowest price starting point... take some lube cause you will need it. I have never been given or seen anyone get fair market value for a car at CarMax. They screw you for every cent they can and then mark the car up...

That's funny, I worked at CarMax in the Purchasing department. When we appraise vehicles with mods you have to understand that it'll take time and money for our mechanics to replace parts back to OEM. All cars were given a fair value yet stupid people think their car is always worth more

I pulled up comparables within 150 miles of zip and that would be very strong money in his market.

Makes sense. I see s197 with 120 K miles and people think just because their car is cammed lowered their car is worth 20k.

Exactly. Even I know if I were to get my car appraised the value I think it's worth is a lot higher

Yea it can suck. I had plenty of idiots come running when I sold my motorcycle, but I held out for a few months and found a buyer.

Its hard to sell a 11 5.0 too so don't get to down. I too think parting returning to stock is the best way to sell most any car. Buyers seem to be either looking for a stock car or something modded to hell. Little in between

It's almost worth keeping the car for the amount they're selling in some places. I can only imagine what my car would sell for around here. I'd REALLY like to get into a 5.0 real soon but part of me wants to hold off to see what the 15 looks like in person. I'd probably keep my car since it's at 110k miles and I don't think I'd get what I wanted out of it even with the front end conversion. If I could somehow manage to get 11k for it the way it sits, I'd make the jump into a new '14 or maybe even a used '13 gt500 depending on what price I could get one for.

I want those Linea Corse wheels. haha

LOL I was thinking the same thing. *cough*and maybe the rear truck/decklid panel *cough*

To the OP, I agree most with the Craigslist sale. Hopefully some kid rolls up and loves it so much that they make his/her parents get a bank loan for it. But maybe a mom n' pops dealer would give you a decent trade in for something else you want??

I've contemplated selling my '06 GT a few times, but because I have lower mileage and the car has been really great to me, I just end up sticking with it.

I'd trade my stock wheels/tires for yours if you're interested! Lol

I'm pretty close to you as well! I also have brembo wheels with tires I'd swap too.

It might help your chances of selling. I love those wheels you have but some may not. (Crazy people) lol

I to of course have been going back and forth , sell dont sell . So I asked my self am I going to add a power add to a new car right away NO . Thro out 30,000 plus for a new , 27,000 plus for a used NO . The 2015 is going to do to the 13,14 what they did to the 3v . So if you can swing it fine a place to park the 3v and buy an 11 or 12 modded and save thousands .
