electric harness for 2009 power seats in 2005 GT

I just pulled my racing seats out of my 2005 Mustang GT, and installed 2009 power seats on both sides. The driver seat electric harness worked just fine (power and side airbag). The 2009 power passenger seat, however, has a different (wider and flatter) power plug, although the side air bag connector connects fine.

Anyone know of a way to hook the 2009 passenger seat power plug to a 2005 passenger plug harness?

Buy the 2009 harness connection from Ford or a salvage yard. Unpin the the 2005 connector and put the pins in the 2009 connector. The electrical service manual will be required to figure it out but shouldn't be that hard.

The 2009 passenger seat came complete. The problem is the 2005 plug coming out of the carpet does NOT fit the power plug that is on the 2009 seat. they are different. Here's a pic of the 2005 plug on the seat. Notice it's somewhat square and gray:

That's where I'm confused...

Yeah do what money pit said. Buy the 09 Body harness connector and re-pin it to the wires in your 05.

You should not need to cut and splice. The pin (wires) are removable from the connector. Remove the wires from your connector (the one that plugs into the seat) and put them into a 2009 connector to plug into your seat.

The only way there could be a problem is if the 09 has flat pins in the seat connector. IIRC correctly the pins are round in the 05 seat connectors.

I'm sure somewhere on here there is a tutorial on how to unpin a connector, if you can't find one I can post up pictures how to do it. All you need is good eyesight and a paper clip to get the pins out.

You will of course need an electrical schematic for the 09 seat connector. I have wiring service manual for an 05 and can tell you what each wire in the connector is for.

The seat is temporarily in the car, so let me pull it Saturday. I can tell you though I DO remember there being flat pins. I'll take a closeup photo of the '09 seat connector and 05 harness connector at that time.

The alternative is to find a manual seat rail, and move the seat to that. I THINK that can be done. But let me look at everything again Saturday and post then.

The 2005 mustangs were not available with a passenger side power seat option at least in Canada they weren't.
If the same holds true for the USA models you will need to figure out what extra pins you are missing.
My assumption is that you will have the correct number of pins for both the passenger side airbag if your vehicle was side airbag equipped which it appears it is.
You will also have the proper amount of pins for the pressure (weight) sensor.
The next thing to figure out if all the relays for the motors are mounted to the seat.
If they are which is my assumption you will only need to get 1 or 2 wires from the drivers side to provide power and possibly ground to drive the controls.
Use caution whenever you're screwing around with airbag wiring.

Ugh. Electrical work isn't my thing. The shortest distance between two points might be finding a used passenger side seat from a 2005 or 2206 (I think electric and heat showed up in 2007) in black leather, or worse come to worse, just buy a new one if they still provide them.

Or just throw the Corbeau's back in there and call it a day.
