What short throw shifter should I buy?

I have a bone stock 2008 GT and slowly modifying it due to lack of money. I am in the market for a short throw shifter. I see quite a few on EBAY and the Steeda Tri-Ax looks pretty nice. What would you folks go with?

MGW. I feel so much better about shifting with it compared to the Hurst, Feels smooth, very short shift and a well designed product. Worth the 300 all day long!!!!

We've installed every available shifter out there for these cars.

The one that we find to be the best is the Roush Billet Shifter.

It's smooth, has the shortest throw, does not vibrate while in gear, installs quick and easy... it's the best all around shifter on the market.

Who goes around testing out short-throw shifters? Unless, of course, you're lucky enough to know people who have one of each on their cars and will let you drive 'em.

I got the Pro5.0 and I like it. It's solid, rattles a little, but I've never accidentally hit 5th instead of 3rd. Is the MGW better? Maybe. Would I spend $300+ to find out? Nope.

I have the Roush Billet Shifter and its great. Never miss a shift and does not rattle. I do not have experience with the MGW to compare but you will not go wrong with the Roush.

I just installed the Hurst Billet short throw shifter and I like it very much. It doesn't rattle, shifts very solid. I can't compare, but I am satisfied.

To be honest, as much as I love MGW and swear by it, others will do the same about the ones they like. It really depends on what driving you are doing and if you want the cool "old style" look or need something that will help you shift fast (MGW) at the track. Its a debate that will always go back and forth. Its what you want and like and what you wanna spend. Just make sure your not just buying the name.

Asking what shifter to get is like saying whipple or KB or vortech or paxton. A battle that will never end. You should ask what people think of each shifter. Of course, its all with owners comfort but its alot easier then asking which one to buy.

The thing people have to remember with the MGW isn't just the no missed shifts. Its the fact it's so adjustable. NO other shifter available lets you adjust the throw ANYWHERE in the range from stock to aboot 40% of stock, along with the knob height and angle.

Exactly. I like my shifter pretty low so the MGW is the only option for my preference.

i've tried the steeda triax, wassnt bad but it hated the 3rd gear power shifts. I have an MGW and it hits every gear since the install no problems, havent even played with the adjustments that much, shit, there could be more on th etable I'm not useing.

I've tried the roush, saleen, pro 50, and a hurst.

I've got the hurst and wish I had gone with a MGW sometimes so that I could raise and lower the knob...but the Hurst has that old school look and works GREAT

I have one and its the best $$ I have spent on the car. The adjustability is one of the best features as you can dial in how short of long you ant the throw. Highly recommended.
