so long story about last night.... got to my parents house two miles down from the track to swap in my track rims. had some trouble with one of the studs and ended up stripping the tip so i had to end up rolling on four lugs on one side :soapbox:

track gates opened at 7 and by 6pm when i was driving down to my parents house there was already a crap load of cars... i ended up getting to the track at 8pm. Tech line was insane! took me 2 hours to get through tech. lined up in the staging lanes at 9:45pm way in the back.... too many broken cars...delays.... got my first pass at 1:15am!!!!!

results- started doing my burnout and i noticed the car cut my power and wouldn't let me burnout like usual... john from mh was there helping me out again. lined up at the tree and started to get my stall where i usually have it at 2k. car ended up moving on me before i even got up to 2k rpms and i moved forward a little and let off the gas. didn't red light... tree was already moving so before it hit green i just gave it some gas and took off. car felt like it was slow off the line... really slow. then a few seconds into the run it kicked in! felt like the nitrous finally kicked in and took off. ended up hitting a 12.3 at 110 mph with a 2.01 60' :headscratch:

i wasn't going to race again but they kept the track open longer. was supposed to shut down at midnight so i lined up again. got my next pass at 2am. talked to john and he asked if i could soften the rear end. i told him i dont have adj shocks. he said we'll do a longer burnout and see what happens. lined up again and as soon as i started doing this burnout the car started moving sideways but with no power on the burnout... lined up. did it again and same shit... went 12.4 at 110 with a 1.9 60' :pissed1:

got back out after my slip and parked it. thats when it hit me...
this is what i noticed from the last time at the track.

1) after my third pass that i went 11.6 last time out on the way to the pit area i noticed my traction control lights on and flashing along with a check engine light. turned the car off and turned it back on. CEL was off but the traction control off light was lit up along with the dash one with the car and two squiggly lines. never noticed that before. loaded my street tune and no lights were on and everything seemed normal.

2) last night when i loaded my nitrous tune i noticed the TCS off light was on along with the dash light on again. i had never noticed that and remember me turning it off manually along with my OD before my passes every time.

3) i called my buddy last night after my 2nd pass. he has the same tuner and i explained what i had seen and noticed. he told me he had the same damn problem before. he said on his tune those same two lights were stuck on with the tune but the TC is still on even though it says its off.

makes sense figuring it felt like the car cut my tire spin on the first burnout last night and felt like it was cutting power at the wheels after the launches last night. then finally kick the power in to the wheels.

i called my tuner and told him what i had noticed and about last night. he said he usually turns off the TCS on his tune but i'm 99% sure before he sent me this last tune (keep in mind after we dynoed last time somehow the tune kept the stock gears instead of my 4.10's so my speedo was off and he sent me a corrected tune with the 4.10's). i remember before being so used to getting in the car at the track and hitting the OD button and then the TCS button before each pass. not last night... that seemed off and not my usual setup. my buddy said he had the same problem and that the tcs off lights are on, but the tcs is still on.

i told my tuner to send me another tune but leave the tune so i can manually turn the traction control off myself. VERY DISAPPOINTING NIGHT last night. ended up swapping my street tires and driving home... got home at 4:30am. shitty day last night all around to say the least.

guess we'll see what the car can really do in two weeks at the next tnt night........

That is a bummer, I was looking for you man. I did a walk through around 9 or so in the stageing lanes and didnt see you but you where probably in the tech line. The damn evo that destroyed the track kinda ruined the night, took forever to get it back up again. Hopefully I can make it to the next one, I will be in Fresno till July and better luck next time for you.

yeah i was in the tech lanes til 10pm... sucked ass last night. way too many cars and that stupid evo didn't help. he's not the only one either. there were a few other cars who don't understand how important it is to stop and pull over immediately if something goes wrong. not go all the way down the track spraying oil everywhere...

funniest shit was that import who hit the wall... during the burnout! hahaha

So who did your tune? Yea if the TCS was on it would be hard to get any kind of decent burnout. I am glad the motor is ok . I saw the title and thought great another blown motor spraying Nitrous. Glad it was not that. All import should hit the wall and then we would have a lot more time to run down the track. Then we could not humiliate them either

my tuner is from lake isabella. walter from marcy motorsports. he actually works in lancaster but comes down every other weekend and has a small shop down here where he tunes fords. really great tuner! only thing is he did this tcs thing on my last tune he sent me with the corrected gears on it. he's sending me another one where i can manually turn it off now. car is running real good and hoping it holds up for the rest of the year

I wonder how my car would run down there? I had a 12.005 last time out. I am in the mountains at 5600 ft. I bet I could get that 11 something . Your car looks great in those videos.

Yea same here it was really hot last night.Amazing how the heat can slow you down. Then add elevation and forget about it.

Ummmmm buddy, on my car, if the TCS button is lit and you have the 2 "squiggly" lines lit on the speedo, that means the TCS is off. And if I am not mistaken, you want the TCS to be "off". I don't think there is a way (and this is if I am understanding what you are saying) that those can be lit and the TCS work.

TCS on = lights off, cars tries to not spin the tires
TCS off = lights are on and car will not try to stop tires from spinning.

I will reread your initial post to see if I followed what you were saying correctly

i understand completely how TCS works and what the lights mean. BUT ive never had problems like that at the track before and never noticed the lights on like that. it felt like it was cutting the power to the wheels during my burnout. i'm going to try and get the video today so i can take a look at what happened.

lights were on, meaning TCS was off, BUT definitely didn't feel like it was off for some reason. and doesn't make sense i go from a 11.46 with consistent 1.55 60's, to a 12.3 with a 2.01 60' AND also going from 17" wheels to the new 15" big and littles this time. :thud:

When I used to run nitrous on my car back in 05, I had a similar issue. Just odd shit coming on and off on the dash. After I took it Excessive, they found a blown relay in the car and had to modify the Zex install to prevent it from happening again. Got the relay replaced under warranty, ran the car fine with juice with no issues.

Might not be your issue, but might be something you want to look into.

Damn, that was like 4 years ago, I don't remember to be honest. I'll give Chris a call and see if he remembers.

PS: Another issue I had back then was a loose fuse, that was fine when the car was still, but when in motion it would vibrate and cause things to stop working in the car. Took a fuse tester to it, all checked out. Then Chris wiggled the fuses and found one that was moving way too much. He pulled it out, bent the prongs a tad, put it back and it was 100% again.
