I've heard rumors of a MT DR to fit the stock 18x8.5" maybe a 265/40 or 275/40..... anyone else hear/read or know of this??

Thanks

Wishful thinking I'm afraid. I would love to see em' though...

I heard the same thing a few weeks ago. Every day for at least two weeks I have spent a few minutes trying to research it. I have found ZIP. Unless I hear it from MTPT directly, I am assuming it's BS at this point...

For the street that would be cool, for the track it would be to much rotating weight, i run on 17's at the track but looking to get something smaller.

I ran with my BFG 265/40/18 DRs and so far (still need practice) best 60 is 1.78 and an ET of 12.35. I run the DRs street and strip so I'd like to find a new tire for the spring as the BFGs are no longer made.

I e-mailed Mickey thompson a couple months ago about some drag tires for the stock 18x8.5 rims and they replied that at this time they didn't have anything to fit the rims, but next year they would be coming out with some.

I highly recommend M&H DRs. I run the 325/45/17s.

I do see Brenspeed has 17's with Drag tires mounted for $625. Sounds like a good deal to me, but I don't know. This Pup has never even driven down the drag strip.

why on earth would you buy 18'' DR's? 17'' is pushing it! And just buy MT ET STREET SLICKS!

You will never buy anything else for the track!

18'' wheels should be just for street driving.

I use them on the car for the street and the track. With your power u dont have traction issues on the street?
