I have a set of Invos on my car now, 295/35/R20 and 245/35/R20. The car is my daily driver and I also autocross the car with the same tires. I am heading down to a 2.25 mile road course in Seattle next month for a track day and wonder what I should expect?

I used to run Toyo Proxies and they were okay for autocross, but the invo tires are far superior.

Do you think I will wear the shit out of them in a day?

I run the a set of Nitto INVOs (325/30/19s) at the drag strip and they hook ok. I know your using them for a road course but I thought I would chime in. I havent been very impressed with the tires overall so far, but I still need a little more testing.

I have just replaced my Invos with Dunlop Direzza Star Specs and I like the Dunlops much better. I do not track my car, but for autocross the Dunlops seem to feel a lot more responsive and have more grip. I think Nitto designed the Invo to have a comfortable ride, so the sidewall is a little weak for track use. Car and Driver did a tire comparison about a year ago and the Invo came in seventh out of eight. The top three were the Dunlops, the Hankook Ventus V12, and the Kumho Ecsta XS.

What size Dunlop Direzza Star Specs did you get?

The last time I checked there was nothing around 27" OD on an 18" rim.

275/35/18, Biggest ones they make. Closer to 25.5" diameter though.

when will you be here? I do that track a lot. What event are you doing? Will be nice to have another Mustang on that track.

July 15 is the track day. This is all part of the Mustang Round Up. First year for me taking part in this 4 day event. I have been thinking about it for a few years, but the Mustangs Northwest lost thier track date to Hot Rod TV a couple years back and ended up doing a parking lot autocross.

I do autocross here and didn't see the need to go all the way down to Bellevue to do it there. This year they got the track slot back and I am all over it like a fat kid on a smartie.

I am getting there on the 14th and heading home after the Sunday event. I have a 05 Mineral Gray with side exhaust, look for me if you take part. I know the cut off date is July 9 to register for the track.

Not a chance!. With 220 or 260 Treadwear you are safe for at least a couple of days of autocrossing :)

I am using NT05 with 200 treadwear now for circuit racing. In my division its prohibited to use semi slicks and I can report 5 days of usage is no problem.

They did stand up very well after 108 miles on the track. It was very hot out and the tires were sticking like glue to the track to the point people were asking me what tires I was running because I was out performing them in the corners. I was very happy with the performance.
