Exactly, you could find a used GT500 for that price. Otherwise, fiveOh all day.

I think the only roush worth buying from 2010 and below is the roush 540h, it's 491 whp out of the gate, but with just a few simple mods it put down 579 rwhp and 572 lb-ft torque, it's essentially a roush stage 3 with a terminator motor in it. It can be seen in the may 2011 issue of muscle mustangs and fast fords, page 122

Yea, the 540h was a pretty cool car. My base auto 2011 with the GT500 wheels/tires, Roush/TVS 2.3, tune, GT500 mufflers, Roush springs etc cost less than that one and it was all brand new. Granted I had to put all the stuff on..

But some people want the look more than the performance, ether one costs. I drive by that dealer almost every day, they always have some nice cars but they dont deal much..

I mean I would rather have a base car and do it myself, but it's worth noting that that car probably has a slightly higher ceiling then the stock 5.0, and it has a better suspension package (not knocking your car, it must be one fast and awesome ride). I'd rather have a 5.0 for sure, but if the prices were equal (or closer) i'd definitely have to take the time to think about it

I understand, it all depends what you are looking for, the 427 is a nice car and has a lot of things besides the power. I just wanted a sleeper/stoplight warrior so thats what I did, I always prefer to do things the way I want. If I wanted a boulevard cruiser to attract some attention that 427 for around the same money I have in mine would probably be a better choice. In a couple years I'm sure the Roush 427 would sell for a bit more than a base 2011 with a blower too but I dont buy these things for resale. Not to mention that Roush has a warranty, safe to say my car has none on the powertrain..

But for a few grand more you can get into a 2010 GT500 which is a great car too..

I was talking strictly about the 540, I love the roush 427 but there is no way id take one over a 5.0, same price or not. Id probably take a 5.0 over a gt500 too

Well yea, but a 540 is around 50K or so. I could do a nice suspension and a forged short block and come in under 50K pretty easy. But to some the look of the 427 would be more important than ETs.

I had a 2010 GT500, its a great car but not what I really wanted, I'm not into cars that scream 'look at me' for daily drivers. But I have seen a couple for around 40K and its a hell of a car for that money.

Stay away from lance cunningham ford, my car came from there. Heres a few of the problems i had with them.
1. Tpms light comes on check the tire pressure it was fine. Come to find out my new car did not have sensors. The dealership asked me if i had changed wheels:helpme: this was with about 300 miles on it.
2 Water leaking in the passenger and driver side floor boards. i checked the drains on the firewall they were clear. Another trip to the dealership, my wife left the car with them. While at work the next day service manager calls and asks me if i think the water is getting in the car from entering with wet feet.:roflmao:.
3.I found the washer fluid line laying on the motor.
4.Inner fender panels were loose.
I live about 80 miles from knoxville our car was took to the dealership five times within the first 1000 miles. Three times was over the water leak.
We had to get in contact with a member of the Resolution team to get the water leak fixed. I know some of these problems seem small but when you buy a new car you expect it to be perfect.

Thats definitely on the high side. I would like others have said buy a used gt500. The Roush 540H is a different than the 427R. Essentially the 540H is a stock GT. It has some suspension work. Biggest difference comes to the engine. 427R stock 3 valve with M90 blower. 540H forged 3valve motor with 8.6:1 compression with TVS Blower.
Heres a link about the 540.http://www.roushperformance.com/performance_vehicles/ford/mustang/2010/540rh.shtml
