Plastidip can peeled off if you no longer like the look...

Another good thing about plastidip is that it works as sort of a primer so you can plastidip, then rattle can something the color of your choice. =]

And STILL remove that should you want!

Nice writeup. Question, though. When you taped off the emblems, it looks like you didn't tape off all the paint finish. How were you able to peel the Plasti-dip off of the paint without messing it up?

After the final coat...I gave ot about 30 minutes to dry some. Then started removing the paper.

The four corners, I did forget to cover, but if you rub your thumb over it, it comes right off.

I will be doing my rims over Memorial Weekend. I will post pics of those too.

I am def looking forward to the pics of your rims with it on! your emblems look sick as hell, and I think you just started a trend.

I dont know about starting a trend...lol

I have the stock fan blades, but want to black out the middle parts. I did a photochop of it and my wife loved it, so I am going to try it.

Im liking this idea, have you done the horse on the front grill if you still have the factory grill? I have an 07 Alloy GT and i feel the same way, that chrome emblem on the back sticks out like a sore thumb:thumb:

I have an alloy 07GT. Bought the GT fender emblems and Faux rear cap from my Ford dealer. Their body shop happended to be painting an alloy bumper at the time, they painted the emblems for me no charge.
I am really pleased with the way they turned out.

Ya know I had this idea a while back....most of us know of all the billet interior and exterior pieces you can buy for a mustang. Why don't they make them in anodize using multiple colors.....black being the one I want! Imagine instead of billet interior pieces, having black ones.

Silverhorse Racing has a good selection of interior billet pieces in black.

How does it hold up to a pressure washer? I really want to do this but sometimes I go through a touchless car wash and that would suck to have half of it peel off.

The can says it fully dries in 4 hours. I usually give it a week before washing it.

As far as pressure washing or car washes, it should be fine after the given time. I have had no issue on my last car.

I have the stock fan blades, so I figured 3 cans for me.

oh well I wasnt going to do the fan blades....hmm

i might get 2 cans for each tire and then if i have leftovers i will do my badges.

you think it would look decent on a windveil blue car with black lemans stripes and tinted windows?
