Wanted to post an update for everyone. I've been working with my tuner and am now on a new version for about a week. So far, I have no codes and it runs great in all conditions. I'll keep everyone posted as time goes on, but hopefully it was just a slight adjustment in the tune.
Thanks for the input GlassTop09, it's really appreciated. I had the check engine light come on Friday and had since cleared it. I've also sent some additional logs to my tuner to see if he can see anything. This weekend I checked all my connections and all the plugs. The plugs look perfect and...
I'll start checking basic stuff this weekend and see if I can find anything. Cleared the codes this afternoon and nothing popped up after a 20 minute drive and the car was fully warmed up by that point. It seems to only trip when running for a while at hotter temperatures. I am not running a two...
Not sure if this is helpful in any way, but: I drove the car to work this morning about 45 minutes, 35 miles at about 70 degrees. I checked codes this morning when I got there with the X4 after clearing last night and there were none except P1000 (monitor testing not complete), normal. I stopped...
I used the Ford Timing Chain Wedge and marked the chain/sprocket with no movement during the install. I've also been running for 2,000 miles with no visible/audible issues, up to redline, and multiple datalogs. Is there any other way to check without pulling the front cover? Would the car even...
Hi All,
I installed Ford Racing Hot Rod Cams a couple months ago, along with new Motorcraft plugs, and new cam sprocket bolts. I've been through a couple tune revisions but every once in a while I'm getting a P0300 and/or P0316. They usually come up by checking with the X4, but a few times the...
Thanks for the suggestion. I actually started with a RST when I swapped to the Magnum. First one lasted 7K miles before locking up. McLeod rebuilt it and that one only lasted 5K. Then I swapped to the single disc (still with matching steel McLeod flywheel) to try and fix the problem. I will...
Another clutch for me, another problem. I have six months and 3,500 miles on this new McLeod single disc. Now the transmission is grinding/whining when upshifting. The shifter moves through the gate and into gear fine, but now I have grinding during and after the shift is completed. I actually...
Well, here I am, a year later. I've put about 7K miles on the rebuilt clutch and have the same issue once again. I am fed up with McLeod and am pulling out their clutch and replacing with a single disc. Once I am able to see the components, I will post an update on what the problem is this time...
I wanted to post the solution for others. My transmission mount (from less than 2 years ago) was totally trashed and cracked. I replaced it with a Energy Suspension polyurethane and all is well.
OK, have some progress. I now know when the car does not rub: going over bumps or upgrade when in neutral or with the clutch pedal depressed. It also seems to be more frequent when the car is hot. Transmission and clutch are working perfectly. Any ideas?
Just want to bump this. Still no progress on my end. I'd like some more info before spending money on parts I don't need quite this second. The video above may help.
