Can someone describe in simple and in dept whats going on in a TC when its slipping. I understand that on a clutch its losing friction so its slipping but I dont understand in a TC what can wear out that creates "slipping"
GROUNDS, GROUNDS, GROUNDS!!!! check every single ground you can find and pull on them lightly and see if they are loose, i found my gremlin that way. heres a thread on my problem:

HOLY CRAP!!! i really think i found it. today the car wouldnt start so i popped the hood and shook the fusebox, the car fired right up and I could hear something "connecting" so i started digging around to see if I could get it to turn back off again, come to find out a ground wire was loose...
I guess B&M is also tackling the 5r55s, anyone heard anything about this yet?

Well, im getting ready to move, for the last 3 years the car has been garaged almost every night. Because of the move i have filled the garage with boxes and the car has been out side for about 3 weeks and i havent had a chance to wash it in a while too. this morning i came out the this was on...

ok little update... it hasent happend for a few weeks, but today at B-dubs it did, same thing just wouldnt start. after a few trys i just grabbed the wire cluster under the passenger foot area and just shook them a bit tried again and the car started right ups. so now im a little more narrowed...
Yeah stock right now, well a PA high performance 5r55s with a stock converter. I am asking because I want to swap to either a 4r70w or do the t56. im very back and forth on it.

kinda of simple question.... if you have a trans brake do you Need a high stall TC?
i only ask because i really dont want to daily drive on anything abouve 3K stall but would like a 4k + launch at the track.
