I just finished replacing all my suspension parts on a 2006 New England car w/160K. The rear upper link bushing in the top of the axle housing should be replaced with the UCA. This is not part of the trailing arm. I had the whole rear out of the car which made it easier. I had to drill out the...
I am slowly progressing with my 6 piston brake upgrade. I will post a recap once I am finished.
In my search for info on the install I ran across this video. While it does cover the 6 piston upgrade, it gives more options for the S197 with both benefits and drawbacks on all options.

I am in the process of converting my '06 Mustang GT to S550 6 piston Performance Pack Brembo front brakes with 15" GT500 rotors. I am using OE 2013-14 GT 19x8.5 Split 5 spoke wheels. The barrel of the wheel clears the caliper OD. but needs spacers so the spokes clear the caliper's face.

Information I found says your banjo bolts may or may not work.
LMR sells banjo bolts with one number fitting the following cars/calipers. Oddly it does not cover 05-10 Mustang 2 piston calipers. The banjo bolts cost $9.99/pair, so if you are this far into a brake upgrade, it just makes sense to...
While it is not a Mustang only event, SCCA holds Track Night in America (TNiA) events.
These are what I will call "lapping" events held at road courses across the country. Passing is allowed by waive by and only in certain sections of the track. No racing and no lap times, just the experience...
2015 - Performance Package: 380 (15.0 in.) x 34 mm vented discs, Brembo six-piston 36 mm fixed aluminum calipers (from the link I posted above)
The RockAuto link in the OP says 2015-21.
I keep forgetting these cars have ABS, which will override minor imbalances in brake proportioning.
The crap cans I usually work on are non-ABS systems and much more effected by incorrect brake balance.
I found the info on the 6 piston S550 Brembo calipers, 6 x 36mm pistons, area is 4.73 square inches. With S550 6 piston fronts and S197 rear calipers (2.23 sqin), the ratio is 2.12:1 a little front biased compared to 2.04:1, but not out of the box and doubtful it would be noticeable by my "butt...
I searched YouTube to see what others have done for rear brakes and found a video showing a similar front swap (different color calipers) and the rear upgrade solution you suggest.
The rear upgrade uses your suggestion, the original S197 caliper and the larger 2013-14 GT500 rear brake disc...
