Looking for cracks is a very good idea. Looking at your pictures with the MAF mounted it looks like the thread inserts are too tall and the MAF is not fully seated. You should not be able to see the little gasket peeking out through the space between the MAF and the mounting plate.

I agree. I filed both studs down about .3mm I'll be home soon and I'll test it.

Smoke test will show you where the issue is too…

That’s I found out on my boosted Audi the bypass valve was leaking.

He's already found where is leaking, just doesn't know why. When I installed me maf, the tuning shop at the time suggested I put the gasket on that I posted earlier. The o-ring can sometimes leak.

I believe I found the problem. The guy I had weld it, cut a slot for the maf laid the the flange over it and welded it. I'd bet money air is escaping in between the pipe and flange. Making it's way out through the bolt holes.

I grinded those studs all the way down first, but it still leaked. I put rtv around that seem inside pipe. I'll let it set till tomorrow evening and test it

Consider metal epoxy or JB weld. Then sanding everything nice a flush...
