New Wheel & Caliper Clearance Concern

I think a 1/4" spacer = 6.3mm... so you're saying with this there will not be enough threads? (think I need at least 8 to grab lug). Are changing out wheel studs a DIY job (not sure how studs are secured to hub)?

New Wheel & Caliper Clearance Concern

Thx... if I add a 1/4" or 5/16" spacer, will I need to change the wheel studs (i.e., add longer studs)?

New Wheel & Caliper Clearance Concern

These are the original pads... have 23K on them. So are spacers an options? If I use 1/4" spacers on rears, any risk of screwing something else up?

New Wheel & Caliper Clearance Concern

I just mounted my new rims & shoes (Godspeed Omega 18x10s/18x9s). Decided to paint-match (G2) the calipers since I was pulling off old rims. Finish calipers so mounted new Godspeed rims. Caliper clearance in front better than OEM wheels; however, the rears are my concern. After torqu'ng down I...

    OEM T-stat trip temperature?

Wow... feeling like the beat-down red-headed step child... where's the love? Anyway, I found a certified Ford Tech who answered the question. Posting response here in case anyone else was curious: "The 4.6L 3v thermostat should start to open at about 175*-182* F but won't be fully open...

    OEM T-stat trip temperature?

Does anyone happen to know what approx temperature the OEM thermostat opens at? Today was a fairly warm day (101F), but I noticed my temp gauge was reading between 215 - 220F. When T-stat does open, it will drop down, but not below 190-195F. I'm using the PLX DM100 OBDII 32-sensor module which...

    Question about SJB "switched" power

Yet another post about the A/B/C SJB fuse locations. Thanks to Don_W's infamous fuse-box pic, I powered my new PLX gauges and SM-AFR wideband module. Everything works as designed, but I noticed when I turn off the key (and remove) the gauge continues to be powered. I used slot "A" for the...

does anyone now if fuse 17 is switched or not

Fuse #17 (10A) in the SJB is the Restraint Control Module (RCM), Passenger Occupant Detection System(PODS), Passenger Air bag Deactivation Indicator (PADI). At least it is in my 2006GT. I suspect it's switched, but you can easily test with a multimeter with key off to see if it's constant or...

    Wideband O2 sensor location question...

I just had a local muffler shop weld in a bung for my upcoming wideband O2 install. I was pretty adamant that I wanted the new bung on the driver’s side pipe, just ahead of the cat, between the 10-2 o’clock location. However, when it was up on the lift, I could see that space was really tight…...

SLP Loudmouths, Stingers and boomtubes in CA

I ran with Flow ATs for 12 months... decent tone, but with an auto they were just too quiet. And you are correct, they do have a mild drone in the lower RPMs... under slight load. Swapped em out with MAC Boomtubes. IMO, sound is amazing and just right. If you get on the throttle, you can...

    Gauge Bezel Ring Question

Finalized my gauge selection... now trying to solve the aesthetics issue. Going with dual PLX DM100 gauges; however, these don't come with chrome (or satin) rings yet (next year, per PLX)...just a black gauge housing. Anyone know if 52mm (standard 2 1/16") chrome gauge bezel rings can be...

    Fuel level issues.

There's another possibility: your fuel level and gauge are correct... (near empty) but you can only fill up to 1/2 tank. Please see my post on another forum regarding this issue and the fix by Ford. In short, there are a ton of S197 owners with the 1/2 tank fill syndrome. Issue is with the...

    Aeroforce Interceptor and Wideband?

If you're only interested in a scan gauge (like the Aeroforce interceptor), you'll only need one PLX module (the DM-100 OBDII Display Module)... as it reads the sensors off the PCM. But you have a good point if you plan to add additional sensor (wideband O2, Exhaust Gas Temp, Fluid Temp...

    Aeroforce Interceptor and Wideband?

agree... but really depends how many sensor boxes you're running. The box itself is not too large (2" x 2.8" x 1.1"). Some folks are mounting single boxes in driver's side kick panel, passenger side footwell, engine compartment. I guess you could even mount under seats (like an amp).
