OK, update... Cams are in, they were right. Car runs good so far, only issue was had to replace plugs due to running a few times in garage w/o a tune in the car. Thanks for everyone's input.
Well.. It lives. but sounds a bit rough. Motor sounds fine, no noise. Running stock tune. Anyone have a line on a good custom tuner and tune for K&N CAI, Xpipe with cats and axle back.. and of course, new Hot Rod Cams.
No the chain and faser together were layed to the side and cams went in. I did have to manipulate the cams a little to get them to line up with the sprocket dowel.
After the feedback Im going to once again... send it. :) Ill let ya know how it goes.
I followed instructions, used the wedge, TDC, as best as I could tell. The fasers and chain were marked with paint pen but in between installing sides I rotated the motor to be sure first side was right. Everything rotated fine. After the rotation , none of the chain marks lined up with marks on...
Got cams in, but am struggling with timing marks etc. At no point did the cam sprockets come off the chain, but the alignment marks and chain links just don't line up with anything like at the start of the installation. I made marks on them, but it seems they're off. Black links are off...
Model 1845. owner claims it was set back to stock tune. Does it have to be plugged into car to power up? Car will need tuned, why Im buying it. Made some mods.
I'm thinking about buying a used SCT Flash Paq for my 06 GT. Owner claims it was used on a 2012 Ford Super Duty with 6.2 and was returned to stock tune.
Anyone know if it will still be usable or will I have to get it unlocked still.
So I'm about to install cams in my car, wondered what people thought of the whole replacing the rockers and adjusters thing, along with the timing set while you're in there. I was planing on locking the cam phasers out with the blocks. Should I do that? Why should I replace those if I am? Water...
