As for the direct application of the hose to the IM nipple(s), that would suffice.........but I myself am a big fan of the quick connect\positive locking type of connector thus I was looking at\for other types of connectors that would provide the same design application...
If this was me now, Boundary is your go to...........the only folks who issue a full warranty on all of their oil pumps for workmanship\operation as long as you don't disassemble it prior installation. Ain't cheap but you also get what you pay for.

Just to put this out here, that would also be a good time to replace both of those plastic heater core hose connectors w\ metal versions since you'll have these disconnected to R&R the heater core. Recently replaced all of these on my 4.6L (coolant outlet crossover under IM & both heater core...

Thought I'd pass this on & let you know that you aren't the only one that still uses them OEM IM PCV\EVAP line connectors w\ centri\turbo FI............I was watching a YouTube video recently of a guy's Paxton centri setup & saw that this guy also used the same OEM PCV & EVAP line...
According to the 05-10 FWM Mustang Component Views mapping, that red locked connector looks to be the C150 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Connector that is located in same vicinity as the EVAP CPV & Connector coming out of same harness.

Disconnect the EVAP inlet line from the CPV (canister purge valve)....on 07-10 MY S197's (Ford changed the CPV design that removed the EVAP line connector port on the inlet CPV port.......this is still located on OEM original CPV's for 05-06 MY S197's.....that haven't already been replaced yet &...
Only thing I'll add to all of this...................
Before you go to lengths concerning the tune, make damn sure that you don't have any vacuum leaks that are allowing any extra air to enter post TB before messing w\ the tune........this can also cause\influence this issue.
