Is this response just from a drag racing perspective? I've had 3.15's, 3.55's, and 3.73's in my '11 GT A6. I'm running 3.55's now and love them. I've got a ton more bottom-end over the 3.15's and a usable 1st gear over the 3.73's.
I ran that combo on the street and competition from June-October last year. Once the temperatures outside were consistently below 45°, it was like trying to drive roller skates on ice. Now the PF01's are sporting 295/30/18 Hoosier A6 tires and have been relegated to race duty only. The 285/35 is...
PS The Hankook V12 is a fantastic tire for the money. It has very good dry handling but not as good as the Hankook RS3. Where it really shines is that it is lightyears better in the rain and cold compared to the RS3 which was batshit scary in either of those scenarios.
That's not a fair fight comparison coming from me. I had a very good suspension (Koni/Steeda) with less than stellar 275/40 tires (Sumitomo HTR Z III). Now I've got an even better suspension (KW V3 coilovers) with great 275/45 tires (Continental DW).
