I just rebuilt my entire motor from the bottom up and installed some hot rod cams in the process. I have the stock intake manifold and the stock headers. Is there anything that I should do/be worried about during my start up?
i ended up doing a complete and total rebuild with all new internals, i believe the issue was in the heads but found gashes in the cams and the main bearings so whatever it ended up being it wasn’t good ): Mabey check your cams for wear on the post that they lay on. I wish u the best of luck!
The issue I’m having is that when the engine gets warm after about 25 min of driving or idling it surges into this rattley mess that sounds like it gonna stall constantly and when i rev it up it rattles bad after letting off the gas pedal. If i rev it up to about 1.25k rpm’s it goes to normal...
Update: the control Module for the intake manifold was completely broken for the butterfly doors and we replaced the intake entirely and got rid of the code for it (P2020) and now just have the P0022. it feels like the idle is taking longer to surge than before but still is idling roughly after...
We also replaced the oil pump with a higher pressure one. The smoke that i get doesn't linger and dissipates pretty fast but is more seen once the engine warms up. That sucks if i got the timing wrong on that one side. it’s weird though you would think that it would idle weird all the time if it...
I drive a 2009 4.6 with 126k miles and it runs great when you first start her up cold but then once the engine reaches normal running temperatures it starts to idle very rough. throwing 2 codes (P0022,P2020) there’s also white smoke coming out of the tail pipes.(note:I’m running the stock...
I drive a 2009 mustang gt with 126k miles and I’m getting the code P2020 and i haven’t been able to find any info on where it is located in the manifold and how to replace it. Ive been looking for a part number to replace it but cant seem to find one. Once i start the car there are no issues...
