    I was worried too, but it ended up being super easy. Comes out in one piece. Goes back in easy too. Big improvement in sound and heat transmission.

    Is it at all possible that you got the wrong thermostat? Maybe marked wrong or does not open per spec? Take it out and put it in a pan of water with a thermometer and watch when it opens?

    Another thing to take into consideration is venting the air from under the hood. Possibly use something like the Tiger Racing hood.

    I used the Noico LMV and their acoustic foam on top of it. The foam was a big improvement over just the LVM. Both are available on Amazon and cost much less than the name brand stuff.

    Save yourself a ton of time and guessing and consult a knowledgeable resource. Call Kenny Brown for a one on one discussion of your goals. If you are not familiar with who he is just do a little Google searching. He has been an innovator in this game for a long long time.

    I had the same type of mystery vibration happening. When I put my new tires on they ended up finding one of the bands that hold the TPMS (tire pressure sensors) was broken.
