I have the luck of having the two piece but did get them successfully changed this past weekend with no broken plugs. Thanks!

What have you done to your mustang today?

I probably would. I go ahead and order the Lisle 65600 extractor tool as well. Ordered mine from Amazon and just sent it back since I didn’t use it. The newer SP547X plugs have a nickel coating on the lower part from what I’ve read. All that said, if you pull your plug boots and they are...

What have you done to your mustang today?

Sorry just realizing I missed typed yesterday. I put in the SP547X. Not the SP546X. I do agree though. Definitely a shorter sleeve on the ones I pulled out. They seemed to run just fine though.

What have you done to your mustang today?

Interesting for sure. I’ll grab a measurement from the old plugs tomorrow just for science. I also replaced the front sway bar links and bushing this afternoon. I removed the rear but realized I ordered wrong. I have the 20mm bar and not 22mm which apparently Moog doesn’t make parts for...

What have you done to your mustang today?

I dunno. they have PZK14F stamped on them. Looks to be the same as SP546. I put SP546X back in there.

I unfortunately have the older style 2 piece head even though it’s a 2008 model. From what I understand, they share the same style plug with the f150.

Part 1 of afternoon work. Got all 8 plugs out with no breakage. Had about 80k miles on them. Used the hot engine, impact gun method.

Working up the nerve to go WOT.

I think you are spot on. I watched a guy in YouTube use Forscan for the temps. You have to get it between 80-120 F then cycle through each position to “fill” each gear. Then top it off. He rigged up a little pressurized container from Walmart and used an air hose.

What have you done to your mustang today?

Got the 18 year old window tint removed and fresh 15% installed. It took the shop a day and a half but they were able to save all of my rear defroster lines. I’m impressed.

Working up the nerve to go WOT.

So funny thing happened this afternoon. Headed home from work and I had it in my head that when I got to the straight section of road right when I turn on my street, I was going to let her rip. :D About 5 miles before that I was coming out of a 45 mph zone into a 55 zone and there was a car...

Working up the nerve to go WOT.

Yeah I can’t really believe I haven’t done it yet but I just want to enjoy it at least a week before she blows. I am researching a fluid check/fill on this odd transmission and it seems easy enough.

Working up the nerve to go WOT.

As some may have seen in my newbie intro, I just bought a 2008 GT with the 5r55s. One owner in good shape with right at 200k miles. The engine seems to run great with no weird noises, no codes, etc. The trans does seem to shift normally at with normal driving habits but shifts into 2nd and 3rd a...

Great info! I was definitely going to research any small improvement I could make with factory wheels. Even though these current rotors are warped, I can tell they seem a bit weak even if they weren’t warped.

Yep, my plan is to heat it up, then zip them out with an impact. I ordered the tool just in case. I think this set has about 80k on them so I’m hoping they aren’t too bad.

Here’s a pic I took today. I need to get tint redone. Spark plugs (and lisle removal tool) are on the way. Full brakes are probably next.
