Told my wife after buying used cars and trucks and even and old school bus for transportation putting my kids through private schools I was going to buy a car to work on and make it my personal ride of choice. Drove home off the dealership lot a brand new 2006 gt. I work on it myself and modded...
I was thinking of those adjustable mufflers with my pypes headers and Hilo cats on the x pipe. I still have the stock mufflers but want to open them to a straight out and not put in cutouts.
Once I pulled mine following the 1/8-1/4 turn procedure to get the originals out. Then I put a little anti-seize on the shaft of the new ones and never though about it ever again. I pull them often to check for detonation or other problems as the racing season goes on.
Anybody have the measurements for the stock suspension with the stock tire sizes?
The cars are 10 years old now and having this information even though late is a starting point for others to work with before they start to make changes.
The car was not meant for drag racing so we make the...
Not always do things show up as codes. I pulled 1\2 the coil pack wires and car started and ran and nothing showed up as a code. My car is missing somewhere no code. Need to get a volt meter on the supply to the coils if you get nothing there or not enough to the coils your spark will not make...
I was a 12.8-9 109mph daily driver on factory rubber. It took cams, headers, c&l intake, lower control arms adjustable upper. I had a brenspeed tune. Auto with stock converter. The key was a 1.8 60' what they are trying to tell you is the truth. You need lots of seat time and grip. Get the dr's...
I have a few feet of clear plastic tubing I use to fill my diff it is 1/4 and curved. Use a peice long enough to reach where you want. Remember it is curved so mark the tube up where you are holding it where the curved end will be pointing so when you turn it you can know about where it will be...
fwiw not everyone gets it on what should be defined as this or that but it is most important that we help each other with advice to those that seek it. We thank the gods of the copy book headings to be there when we get it wrong.
thanks for the dyno post it was informative.
hope the op won't...
The whole reason I want to change the cams. I come out of the hole ok but getting tired of the drop off and cars drive by at the stripe the Nano is not going to happen this year but it might be a good Idea.
My original plan was to run with 200's and the nitrous with the FFRP intake to see...
Well I could do a post: "How would my engine respond to a 150 shot on slicks at 750 rpms without a tune?"
seriously, got the car to keep me doing something and working on machines has always been a way to keep moving. I got it new and doing things like n2o and cams just for kicks. I listened...
Wish I had vids of my runs to see how sloppy my car is off the line, I don't have that much power but we all can gain from springs and adjustable shocks over OEM. Just would like to see where I need to make the changes. Nothing bothers me more than buying something that gains me nothing.
Thanks, Hotrods seem the popular cam. I know some people who have them and get a bump from them. Was there a any difference in the track times compared to the Nitrous? Thanks for the response.
Nice, what rpm did you put your hit? I had it set at 3k and could feel it in the 60' and really...
