Looking for machine shop good with 3v heads.

long story short, I have 3v ported heads which got scored up pretty good. I've found a shop in Minnesota that will line bore cam journals and durabond makes cam bearing for this exact application. I live in Alabama and don't want to have to ship that far if I don't have to. Has anyone had this...

Pulling motor with or without trans (manual)

Getting ready to pull my motor this weekend to rebuild it and I've been torn between trying to pull my motor with or without my 3650. Has anyone pulled with trans or is there not enough clearance with jacks? Disconnecting trans while laying on floor is last thing I wanna do but if it needs to be...

    Rebuilding motor and need advice

Also saw some threads on other sites but no one really gave a definite answer on what was required to drop the pan. Anyone done this and...

Turns out I windowed timing cover.

Yesterday I made a post about my chain guide getting torn to shreds. Stripped down the front of motor to prepare to change guides and soon found out that somehow it windowed the timing cover. I'm assuming it all got bound up and flew out? Trying to decide the best option I have right now. Either...

    Chain guide broke

The guy I bought this from a long time ago rebuilt the motor with new forged rods/pistons and most everything internally was replaced but I'm thinking he maybe re used the chain guides and tensioners so I'd imagine they have some mileage. The rest of the motor is new/fully built.

    Chain guide broke

I had a rattling noise develop randomly one day and couldn't discover what is was until I used the stethoscope method and had a noise come from the front of the passenger side valve cover. Today I opened it up and discovered a few broken plastic pieces broken. It has to be chain guide is my...
