    i wouldnt put a new valve in that head just yet,, i can guarantee that valve guide is anything but ok, infact ill tell you its not ok,, i would replace that guide or you are risking alot,, i would have the valve guide replaced and obviously a lapp to seat the new valve, you got lucky , mine eat...

    with any "mulled" metal , its best to do as said above, soak it or spray it ,, let it soak about 30 min , than use a torch and get that guy glowing , it will come out squeaking,, but thats due to the heat and all , ,, but heat is youre friend ,, and a proper sized and up to par o2 tool is key

    you dont need to do a crazy all out flush with a garden hose ,. just emptying the rad and overflow , than refilling with new and burping will yeild great results... for %100 clean, id opt for the rad to be taken out and a hose flush ,,,

    you should flush old coolant (over 95k) ,,it breaks down and can do some funny things(can even cause it to become charged), not hard to do and a good way to make sure everything is in top shape
