Found this awesome write up on how to add a sub to the existing Shaker 500 in a 2010 - 2012 GT.

What color wires are + and - on the door speakers?
The door subs are the only stock speakers in my car. There wasn't a great alternative on the market when I scrapped my Shaker1000 setup in 2007.I'm not a big audiophile, so for me it was easy on my 2011. I replaced all the factory 6x8's with good Infinity 4ohm speakers that had built in crossovers. I then bought a 10" 250W Class D Amplified 4ohm Bazooka Tube for the trunk along with the remote for it.
I kept the factory door subs for now. But I will replace them soon.
Everything was easy to install. Just time consuming taking shit apart to get at the factory speakers.
Still, my music sounds really, really nice now! And I can put out more bass than what this 43 year old white guy really wants.

Any recommendations?
