Thanks for the great explanation, really informative. Btw, I know the Watt's link isn't a fix all mod, but it did help with the rear end over bumps as compared to the pan hard. Made it a lot more predictable IMO.
I mean the rear end doesn't dance around as much when hitting bumps in turns anymore, so I think it did. In its current set up, it doesn't really bother me much anyways, but that might be me being used to how the car is, and I don't know any better.
Ugh that sucks but I'm glad it was mentioned since I didn't know that was something I would have to do. My wife thanks you because that means I'm going to be buying cheaper parts now haha.
So if you install Boss S front control arms, you should install a bump-steer kit too? Ugh, I might go back to buying the FRPP arms since I don't really want to spend more money or time to replace my blown ball joints.
Damn that really sucks you're going to part the beast out :(. And it really sucks that you're going to be parting out all these awesome parts when money is tight for me right now!! Ughhh
O and also, I agree with the sentiment that the adrenaline rush in W2W is unlike anything in HPDE. I experienced my first taste in a Lemons race last year, and even in those crap cans, it was a god damn blast.
Very cool thread. I started in Autox for a couple years, but after my first HPDE I was hooked and have hardly done anything but that since. The last autox I did was over a year ago, and that was in my Focus SVT daily driver (a pretty damn fun car to autox in). I eventually want to move up to TT...
Should've clarified that. I meant on the street, which is hardly ever, until I can get them fixed. Then keep the konis if I can get them repaired because they've served me well.
I'm not 100% sure what a blown strut feels like, but I have had them on the car for at least 4 years, so it would be an interesting test of durability. If they're blown though, I'll probably keep on running them because they have been serving me well so far.
They lost me as a customer. I went to the Direzza Star Specs on the rear, and even that was a compromise because it was smaller than I wanted. But if the regular Rivals are available next time I need tires, I will take a look because I love the Rivals on the front of my car.
Terry that is a great post. Never even really thought about the Koni's being blown because I assumed my car rode like crap because race car. I might have to check all the shocks when I do my Boss S control arms now, since I will be taking off the spindles to get milled anyways. I will report my...
