    How many miles you got?

2007 GT. Stopped being my daily in 14' with 149k. Has 156k now. Driving it more again since I got rid of my 15' in May.

    MT-82 behind 4.6 3V

That torque rating is based on a much higher GVWR than the Mustang has. The lower the weight of the vehicle is the more that rating goes up. I've seen that rating attached to 9000lb + weight vehicles for the MT-82. Should be no issue in the Mustang really. I'd be more concerned about high RPM...

    MT-82 behind 4.6 3V

My only on track experience has been VIR full course. At oak tree I was getting down into 2nd because 3rd was too tall (Or maybe I'm just slow) to pull well coming out onto the back straight with a stock 4.6. It was a real speed killer in the corner but was faster than trying to use 3rd. Never...

    MT-82 behind 4.6 3V

My interest is road course work as well. I'm not fast, highly experienced or overly well funded. Just like the gear ratios. There are currently stronger MT-82 internals out there now too so the durability issues are being addressed as well for anyone who's willing to go there. If the speedo...

    MT-82 behind 4.6 3V

I am not in disagreement. But a stock or near stock 4.6 shouldn't be hard on the MT-82 if it's healthy to begin with. Drivers on the other hand. Well that's a different matter altogether.

    MT-82 behind 4.6 3V

I know the magnum xl, t56 is the better swap. I just like to tinker with things and this was just one of those issues I can't seem to let go of. The MT-82 is just plentiful and cheap compared to the T56 so it seemed to me finding a solution to the sensor issue would be worthwhile. Also the...

    Heavy Clutch Fix

Really? I never checked honestly. My oops.

    Heavy Clutch Fix

The 15+ cars have a helper spring in the clutch pedal assembly which is why they are lighter in effort. A common mod for people who want more clutch feel is to pull the spring out. Of course this increases clutch effort.

    Bad harness?

Haha been away for a while but got back on here recently and realized this had never been updated. First thanks for all the help back when this was new. Wiring harness is fine. Brake fluid switch just needed to be used regularly. I bought a new one but never installed it as the problem has...

    MT-82 behind 4.6 3V

Nevermind. My question fails in that the PCM from the coyote motor is what makes the speedo work. I'm still using the 4.6 PCM so none of the Coyote PCM stuff applies here. Gonna have to make a trans mounted reluctor wheel and use the stock VR sensor if I want to go this route. Which I might...

    MT-82 behind 4.6 3V

Not a motor swap but posting this here as the knowledge to answer my question is most likely in this section of the forum. To start. I have installed an MT-82 in my 07' GT in the past but took it out for a few reasons. First the guy I bought it from lied to me and it wasn't in good shape with...

    Manual trans noise

Any noises when going down the road? A manual transmission the has a light rattle while idling in neutral is no big deal IMO. If you're having rattling/grinding noises when going down the road well that's different. Welcome and enjoy your car.

    Yes I've Searched. Extensively. P0345 and 0349

Well it's been a while and I was out of town way more than expected. I did manage to get in a track day at VIR for the SVT Superfest on April 19th. So after checking the wiring thoroughly I decided to dig into the motor and swap out the cam phaser. 150k miles first time ever opened the...

    Bad harness?

Good advice here thanks. I've been so busy with work lately and every time I turn around the car needs something else fixed (constantly being repaired/upgraded since October) I have not had the energy to think these things through sometimes. The guidance you've presented here is much appreciated.

    Bad harness?

Car is an 07' and it was indoors about 90% of the time. When I had projects to do in the shop I would move it outside while working in the shop. Now I have more shop so it's stored indoors all the time. Truth be told I was not privy to the smart junction box. Just started looking into this...

    Bad harness?

I'm thinking I have a bad engine wiring harness. Car sat for most of the last 2 1/2 years. Upon reviving it and getting back on the road I immediately had a low brake fluid warning and TCS off warning lights come on. Well after fooling with the sensor connector, making sure the...

    Yes I've Searched. Extensively. P0345 and 0349

Background. My 2007 GT has been sitting for most of the last 2 years. I had been fighting a driveline issue which is now fixed thankfully. About a week before I figured out the driveline issue my check engine light came on. I didn't check it at the time as I was wrapped up on my other issues...

New guy rear axle/ suspension rebuild.

Updating this thread. Turns out it was a flywheel that had worked itself loose. No so loose you could feel it by hand but loose enough that it would happen under load. I pulled the transmission again last Sunday with the intention of inspecting the flywheel and clutch assembly as the...

What is causing this noise? I'm at a loss.

Hey haven't been on here in a while. Figured I'd update this thread since I have found the problem. It was a loose flywheel. Crazy I know. It was not loose enough to detect it being loose by hand but I pulled the transmission again last Sunday just to check. The flywheel has never been...

New guy rear axle/ suspension rebuild.

Not the last time. The pilot bearing that is in there was installed in 2013 when I was attempting to run an MT82 in this car. That didn't pan out and I put a rebuilt 3650 in instead back in October. The reason I am not thinking pilot bearing is it does it when I'm not using the clutch so the...

New guy rear axle/ suspension rebuild.

So I reassembled the rear axle and took the car for a drive. Crazy noise was still there. At this point I'm stumped. This noise has existed both before and after all of the work detailed below. A brief overview history. New RAM clutch. Rebuilt transmission. Maybe 25 miles since installed...

What is causing this noise? I'm at a loss.

In regards to diff mounting every control arm is new. The upper is a Heim joint BMR piece and the bushing at the diff is a Prothane unit also brand new. With that in mind the car feels planted going down the road not sloppy at all. I can stick the GoPro under there but it'll be the weekend...
