    Fuel or evap issue?

Update: It was neither a fuel or EVAP system issue. Juice was right. The other code that I didn't mention because I thought it was purposely part of the tune was a high idle code. This caused us to put a smoke machine on the intake manifold. Those are plastic on the Gen 3s, and sure enough...

    EVAP System Delete

Update: Juice was right, it was not the EVAP system. The other code that I didn't mention because I thought it was purposely part of the tune was a high idle code. This caused us to put a smoke machine on the intake manifold. Those are plastic on the Gen 3s, and sure enough, it had 4-5...

    Fuel or evap issue?

Is it possible that the solenoid not opening might alter the air fuel ratios???

    Fuel or evap issue?

I'm not experienced enough to argue if I was right, but here is one of the sources I used (https://answers.autocado.com/5165524/What-happens-if-EVAP-purge-valve-is-stuck-closed). Others forums seemed to say the same thing. I got the impression that since the PCU was smart enough to know how...

    EVAP System Delete

My 2005 S197 turned 20 this year, so no more emissions tests (even though the engine is a 2018). Normally, I wouldn't mind keeping the EVAP system in since it may help the earth last a little bit longer; however, my car is getting forced into "limp-mode" or "conservative-mode" after 10-20...

    Fuel or evap issue?

Follow-up. After doing some more research, I found that if the Solenoid for the EVAP Purge is stuck closed, once the pressure builds up in the EVAP system, it is supposed to open and recycle those fumes into the intake. If it cannot, the ECU puts the car into a limp-mode or conservative-mode...

    Fuel or evap issue?

So I was able to jack the car up and inspect the Evap system. It's not plugged in at all. I have a 2006 female end with a 2018 male end. Both have only two wires and neither fit each other. The male end from the 2018 has one green wire and one green wire with a blue stripe. The 2006 body...

    Fuel or evap issue?

I almost didn't include that part, because it may be completely unrelated. However, the more I think about it, the more I think they are related for the reason you mention above. I'm wondering if the solenoid on the evap system responsible for opening and closing the tube that exits directly...

    Fuel or evap issue?

Hello all. I'm completely stumped on this one (again). After putting a 2018 Gen3 Coyote in a 2005, I'm having issues that I think are related to the fuel and evap system. The car runs great at first. Then after 5-8 minutes, the gas gauge starts showing "fuller" readings until it gets up to...

Gen 3 Coyote fuel pump that fits in a 2005 V6 4.0 fuel tank.

Hi all, any recommendations on a fuel pump for a Gen 3 Coyote stuffed in a 2005 V6 4.0 gas tank?

Guage cluster swap 2005 to 2018?

I did this exact thing with a 2005 and 2018. I had to cut both the dash and Guage cluster to make it fit. It's roughly the same size, so nothing severe, but the angles and connection points are different.

    2006 Mustang GT - S550 interior, 7.3 Godzilla, 10r80

Thanks, I also looked up the wiring diagrams, but couldn't figure this out as the locking mechanism and windows had disimilar/asymetric wiring setups. I also tried to use the 2018 fuel tank entirely, but when I put the car on the ground, there wasn't enough clearance for the drive-shaft. So I...

    2006 Mustang GT - S550 interior, 7.3 Godzilla, 10r80

Thanks for sharing. This is both inspirational and informative. I'm doing something similar, only without any of the expertise you have. I'm especially having trouble getting the heater box and door motors/switches to marry up with the donor vehicle CPU and control module. It looks like you...

Is a tune always necessary? Gen 3 Coyote swap

Thanks for the advice on spending $, but still doing the research to learn more about this hobby/passion.

Is a tune always necessary? Gen 3 Coyote swap

Im putting a 2018 gen 3 coyote in a 2005 chassis. I've used nearly everything from the donor vic: to include tranny, exhaust manifolds with cats, CAI, PCU, etc. However, the gear ratio in the pumpkin is 4.10 and the 2018s have something lower (I think 3.55). It's a manual transmission; do I...

Return vs returnless fuel system 4.0 to 5.0 Gen 3 Coyote

But in all the YouTube videos I found, it was always a 4.6 to a 5.0 Coyote; not V6 4.0 to the coyote.

Return vs returnless fuel system 4.0 to 5.0 Gen 3 Coyote

Quick question for the group: is the 2005 4.0 a returnless or return style fuel system? The reason I ask is I've put a Gen 3 coyote in it; I barely know what I'm doing, but I know the 2018 donor car had a return style fuel system. I've installed the 2018 donor evap system and the fuel pump...

Thanks. That's helps with the decision.

    Which refrigerant to use

Thank you. I'm wanting to use the old stuff since it's more efficient, available, and I have the right equipment to charge the system. Is the reason the shop manual calls for the R1234yf because the charge ports only match that type and because it's better for the environment? Or will R134a...

    Which refrigerant to use

    Which refrigerant to use

I'm on the final steps of the coyote swap. Hope to start it up tomorrow. But first... I need refrigerant. The owner's manual for the Gen 3 motor says to use 1234yf Refrigerant, but the 2005 system used the old stuff. The compressor and half the lines are from the 2018, the condenser and...

    Radiator capacity/size for a swapped 2018 Gen3 5.0 into a 2005 V6 base model

Hello, I'm putting a fully dressed Gen 3 5.0 into a 2005 V6 Base Model. I'm guessing I need a better radiator, but could probably recycle the fan. Or is the '05 V6 stock radiator enough for daily driving and 3-4 AutoX and TrackDays per year? Can I reused the fan already in the car? If not...
