    Cervinis Hood Fitment

I purchased one of their hoods a few years back and installed it myself in my garage. I know I had to play with hinges… can’t remember details, but in the end fit is perfect and they also matched the color very well.

Calling all boosted STOCK ENGINE 3v's

Heck yes... Ignite Red/114 is my favorite fuel. I had a drum delivered by the local distributor here in north Texas a couple years ago for like $450. It didn’t last long.

Calling all boosted STOCK ENGINE 3v's

Dang it must have been pretty bad to change back. I’d trade some low end torque for top end power in a heartbeat... my low end power is way more than what’s usable with my Pilot Super Sports. I can’t even punch it in 3rd on the hwy without spinning all over the road. That’s why I probably...

That’s impossible... I read on the internet that your engine will explode! ;)

Calling all boosted STOCK ENGINE 3v's

I drive pretty hard but will not take it to a track... only racing has been rolls on the HWY which is not as hard on the engine and trans... and no DRs until built engine and trans either... clutch wouldn’t last a week!

Calling all boosted STOCK ENGINE 3v's

Tuning and e85 just prevent detonation... which causes most thrown rods. That aside, totally agree that if you run balls to the wall all the time, rpms will probably sooner or later wear it out and it will let go. If you have 600-700 whp on a stock 4.6 3v block, you should either have plans...

Calling all boosted STOCK ENGINE 3v's

Just curious... I’ve never used “race gas” ... did you have your car tuned for that race gas and it still detonated and threw a rod? e85 is about 108 octane... e90 about 114, but I don’t want to get away from the most important difference between e85 and gasoline. Y’all may already know this...

Calling all boosted STOCK ENGINE 3v's

Wish I was that close... I’m in Texas so have to do the repetitive log-email-log-email-log-email... thing until the tuner is happy with what he sees. That GT450 manifold is awesome. If I was to change the blower... that is absolutely what I would do... install the DOB GT450 and buy a...

Calling all boosted STOCK ENGINE 3v's

Yep this. It’s all about tuning and if possible run ethanol to keep her burning cooler. Run ethanol and have a good not-too-agreesive tune and you’ll never see detonation and never have a problem. I would recommend VMP tuning service to anyone with a 3V... only service I’ve ever used and the...

Calling all boosted STOCK ENGINE 3v's

I’m running a Saleen VI with a 2.80” upper and +15% lower... boost gauge shows 15-16lbs under WOT... also Mosaleen no slip system to control belt slip... works great. I also of course have a huge triple pass double fan VMP heat exchanger... this is a must for 15psi on a Saleen VI and it does...

    Saleen SC Oil

If it was more often than 50,000 miles or whatever, it would drive me insane. But this blower really is great IMO... I’ve got the Brenspeed Detroit blower cam, kooks longtube and h-pipe setup, +15% lower, 2.80 upper, and my boost gauge hits 16psi going all out even with all the...

Exhaust pipe hitting upper panhard bar support brace?

This is how I justify the lawlessness of going catless... two less things to fail, lol!

    3v turbo build

A little late to the party... just wanted to say I’ve been running the Brenspeed Detroit Rocker Blower Cam at 15+PSI boost with a Kooks longtube header off-road exhaust and I could not ask for better. It’s an awesome setup.

What have you done to your mustang today?

Thanks for the input... important things to consider for sure. The potential for contact bothers me much more than a little bulge (as long as it’s just a little). Here’s the Nitto 555 R 305/35/20 on a 9.5” wide wheel. That was too much bulge and I put them on 10.5” after that and they looked...

What have you done to your mustang today?

They were already on the car when I bought her, but the prev owner provided the receipt. See attached. The stance on the rears is perfect for 285 rear tire... but if you want larger, it would be better if the offset was more in the + direction... maybe +45 or so IMO. I’m running 295s now and...

What have you done to your mustang today?

I appreciate all that... I really do. Sharing info is what these boards are all about. My wife doesn’t like me to spend money so install all my own stuff. The end result is good because I’ve learned a ton about this car and the Saleen VI. The Saleen VI is actually a very good, reliable...

What have you done to your mustang today?

Agree... if I ever replace the 2.3l Saleen VI, it will be with DOB’s manifold/adapter for 3V’s combined with a larger DOB, Roush or Whipple SC. For a 3V that is the way to go if starting over now, IMO.

What have you done to your mustang today?

Great questions for sure. For background, I bought this car about a year ago and the Saleen was already on it. Service history indicates it’s been there since 2008 and has 60,000-65,000 miles on it with two oil changes: one at around 40,000 miles and I just changed again it myself at 75,000...

What have you done to your mustang today?

Just finished relocating my battery to the trunk. I used the original battery tray (heavily modified with bench grinder lol) and hold down, (along with a billet dress up hold down I already had). Used all the original terminal cables, and made my own distributor post for everything to...

    Moving to the next stage

I should have just said overall diameter wheel+tire. Regardless, you clearly get the point... that it all goes into the gearing equation. As far as weight (vs size), you will get varying opinions. Changes in wheel weight have never impacted my drag ET’s to any extent I could see. I have...

    Moving to the next stage

I’ve always had 20’s on this car... so I can’t compare to 19’s personally. Large wheels do raise your overall gearing... making the vehicles legs longer, as they say, but I always thought the dyno was configured with these parameters so it would measure your whp accordingly. How the gearing...
